Samsung has announced the Galaxy S26 FE, the latest addition to its Galaxy S26 lineup. The new smartphone in the S26 family brings several flagship-inspired features, including an enhanced triple rear camera system, Galaxy AI features and a 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, while retaining a relatively thin and lightweight design. It is also the first smartphone in the Galaxy S26 lineup to launch with One UI 9.

Samsung Galaxy S26 FE Specifications And Features

The Galaxy S26 FE is powered by the Exynos 2500 processor and comes with up to 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Samsung is also promising long-term software support, with the phone set to receive up to seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates.

The Galaxy S26 FE features a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel has a Full HD+ resolution and can reach up to 1,900 nits of brightness, making it suitable for outdoor viewing as well as gaming and streaming.

The phone measures 161.6 x 76.9 x 7.4mm and weighs 193 grams. This keeps it relatively slim for a smartphone in its class while maintaining the larger display and battery.  Camera upgrades are one of the key highlights of the Galaxy S26 FE. The phone features a 50MP primary camera with OIS, paired with a 12MP ultra-wide camera and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS. There is also a 12MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

Samsung has also brought several camera and AI-powered features to the phone. My FanCam can automatically track a selected person and keep them centred in the frame while recording video. The feature was previously introduced on Samsung's latest foldable devices.  The phone also supports Super Steady with Horizontal Lock, which is designed to produce smoother and more level footage when recording moving subjects. Samsung's Nightography features are aimed at improving low-light photography.

For editing, Photo Assist allows users to make changes using natural language prompts, while Gemini Omni can create and edit video clips using photos and videos stored in the Gallery. The Galaxy S26 FE ships with One UI 9, bringing several context-aware Galaxy AI features to the Fan Edition lineup.

Samsung has updated Now Brief, allowing users to customise briefing cards and create their own cards using simple prompts. Now Nudge has also been expanded to selected third-party apps and notifications, providing contextual suggestions throughout the day.  The phone also supports an updated Circle to Search with Google, which can identify multiple items in an image at the same time.

Samsung is also offering a six-month trial of Google AI Pro with the Galaxy S26 FE for eligible users. The subscription includes expanded AI capabilities and 5TB of cloud storage.  The Galaxy S26 FE packs a 4,900mAh battery. Samsung says the phone can reach up to 69% charge in around 30 minutes when using a 45W adapter. The device also supports 15W wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare.  The 45W power adapter, however, is sold separately.

The Galaxy S26 FE carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Samsung's specifications state that the device can withstand submersion in up to 1.5 metres of freshwater for up to 30 minutes under laboratory conditions.  The phone supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4. Samsung is also promising seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from the global launch date.

Samsung has also improved the Smart Switch experience, allowing users moving from Android or iOS to transfer data wirelessly using a QR code. Depending on the device and connection, this can include passwords, passkeys, call history, accessibility settings and eSIM data.

Samsung Galaxy S26 FE Price and Availability

Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S26 FE will be available in select markets in three colour options: Blueberry, Graphite and Pistachio.

The company's announcement does not provide an India-specific price or India availability date for the Galaxy S26 FE. Storage configurations listed by Samsung include 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB and 8GB + 512GB, with availability varying by market and carrier. However, these details are expected to be out soon and we will be updating the article once they are revealed.

The Galaxy S26 FE focuses on bringing the core Galaxy flagship experience to a more accessible part of Samsung's lineup. The 50MP OIS primary camera, 3x optical zoom, 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, Exynos 2500 and One UI 9 form the core of the package, while Galaxy AI features such as My FanCam, Photo Assist, Now Brief and Circle to Search add more functionality.

The seven years of security updates and seven generations of OS upgrades are also significant for buyers planning to keep the phone for several years.
