Samsung has announced another Galaxy launch event, less than a month after unveiling its latest generation of foldable smartphones. The company will host the virtual event on August 27, where it is expected to introduce a new member of the Galaxy S26 family, widely believed to be the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE.
The South Korean technology giant has kept the identity of the upcoming device under wraps. However, its invitation confirms that the Galaxy S26 lineup will soon welcome its "newest addition," while promising to bring more Galaxy S26 experiences, including camera and AI features, to a wider audience.
The event will be streamed live through Samsung’s official website and YouTube channel at 9 pm KST, or 5:30 pm IST, on August 27.
Galaxy S26 FE likely to take centre stage
Samsung has not mentioned the Galaxy S26 FE by name, but the timing and recent leaks strongly suggest that the next Fan Edition smartphone will be the star of the show. Nearly a year has passed since the Galaxy S25 FE went on sale, and reports surrounding its successor have intensified in recent weeks.
The company has also confirmed that the new Galaxy S26-series device will ship with the latest version of One UI. This is expected to be Android 17-based One UI 9, which debuted with Samsung’s latest foldable smartphones last month.
Samsung’s Fan Edition lineup has traditionally focused on bringing selected flagship features to a more affordable price point, and the Galaxy S26 FE is expected to continue that approach. The device could offer several features associated with the flagship Galaxy S26 series while targeting buyers looking for a comparatively lower-cost option.
Samsung Galaxy S26 FE Expected Specifications
According to previous leaks, the Galaxy S26 FE is expected to feature a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 2,340×1,080-pixel resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of up to 1,900 nits.
Under the hood, the handset is rumoured to be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 2500 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage.
The camera setup could include a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel telephoto camera, and an ultra-wide-angle lens. On the front, Samsung may offer a 12-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
The Galaxy S26 FE is also tipped to pack a 4,900mAh battery with support for 45W wired fast charging.
Leaked renders have suggested that the phone could retain a familiar design, featuring three vertically arranged rear cameras. However, the camera module may sit on a raised island, similar to the design language seen on Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge. The handset has reportedly appeared in Gray and Mint colour options.
Samsung is yet to reveal pricing or availability details. Rumours suggest the Galaxy S26 FE could be priced at around $799 or €799, although the company’s official announcement on August 27 should provide a clearer picture.
With Samsung promising another addition to the Galaxy S26 family, the Galaxy S26 FE appears increasingly likely to be the company’s next major smartphone launch.
