Xiaomi has officially launched the new Xiaomi 17T series globally, introducing two smartphones aimed at the premium flagship segment. The lineup includes the standard Xiaomi 17T and the higher-end Xiaomi 17T Pro, both featuring Leica-tuned cameras, AMOLED displays, large silicon-carbon batteries, and Xiaomi's latest HyperOS 3 software based on Android 16. The smartphone series will now launch in India on June 4.
The Xiaomi 17T series arrives as the successor to last year's Xiaomi 15T lineup and continues the company's strategy of offering flagship-level photography and performance without fully entering ultra-premium pricing territory.
Xiaomi 17T Global Pricing
The standard Xiaomi 17T starts at EUR 749 (roughly Rs 83,500) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, while the 512GB version costs EUR 799 (around Rs 89,000). The phone comes in Black, Blue, Opal White, and Violet colour options.
The more premium Xiaomi 17T Pro starts at EUR 899 (approximately Rs 1,02,000) for the 12GB + 512GB model. Xiaomi is also offering higher storage configurations, with the 1TB version going up to EUR 1,099 (roughly Rs 1,22,500). The Pro model is available in Deep Blue, Deep Violet, and Black finishes.
Xiaomi 17T Specifications
The Xiaomi 17T features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi has included support for HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage. Peak brightness reaches up to 3,500 nits, which should improve outdoor visibility and HDR viewing performance.
Powering the standard model is the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset paired with Xiaomi's in-house Surge T1 Plus and T1S chips. Xiaomi has also equipped the phone with a 3D Ice Loop cooling system designed to maintain sustained performance during gaming and heavy workloads.
One of the more unusual additions is Xiaomi's "Astro Communication" feature, which the company claims enables limited offline communication over distances of up to 1.3 kilometres in certain situations. While Xiaomi has not fully detailed how the system works, it appears aimed at emergency communication or low-network scenarios.
Photography remains a major focus of the Xiaomi 17T lineup. The phone uses Leica-tuned cameras, including a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor.
The primary camera differs between models. The standard Xiaomi 17T uses a 50-megapixel Light Fusion 800 sensor, while the Pro variant is expected to feature a more advanced imaging system alongside the newer MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset.
The Xiaomi 17T series also includes a 32-megapixel front-facing camera and support for 4K HDR10 video recording at up to 60fps.
Battery life appears to be another strong point. The Xiaomi 17T packs a large 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 67W wired fast charging. Xiaomi's use of silicon-carbon battery technology allows for higher battery capacity without significantly increasing device thickness.
On the software side, both phones ship with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and support Xiaomi ecosystem features aimed at cross-device integration.
With the 17T series, Xiaomi appears to be targeting users who want flagship camera hardware, premium displays, and strong battery life without necessarily stepping into foldable or ultra-flagship pricing categories. The combination of Leica branding, large batteries, and high-end displays could make the new lineup particularly attractive for photography enthusiasts and power users.
