Logitech Begins Local Manufacturing in India Under Make in India Initiative: Here’s Everything You Need To Know

Logitech has commenced local manufacturing in India, with production operations based in Manesar, Haryana. This move is part of the company’s efforts to expand its presence in the country under the government’s Make in India initiative. It’s initial production focuses on webcams and pointing devices such as computer mice.

Logitech said that the local manufacturing operations have been established through partnerships with domestic manufacturers. The move is expected to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce turnaround times and help Logitech respond faster to demand from Indian customers.

The development expands Logitech’s existing operations in India, which include channel management, marketing support and a Global Capability Center in Chennai. The company said local manufacturing will strengthen its domestic capabilities while adding another production location to its global manufacturing network.

Logitech’s decision comes amid growing demand for digital devices and workspace accessories in India. According to the company, India had nearly 970 million internet subscriptions, while annual PC sales reached close to 16 million units in 2025. The company expects local production to help it better address the needs of businesses and consumers as digital adoption continues to grow.

Sree Chenincherry, Chief Supply Chain Operations Officer at Logitech, Commented on the development, said India is a strategically important market for the company. He added that local assembly and production would improve operational agility, strengthen supply chain resilience and enable faster responses to changing customer requirements.

Delphine Donné, Vice President and General Manager of Personal Work Solutions at Logitech, said the move also reflects India’s importance to the company’s global operations, particularly through its Chennai-based Global Capability Center, which supports the development of design-led, software and AI-enabled hardware.

Logitech also expects local manufacturing to support its sustainability efforts by shortening supply chain distances, reducing freight-related emissions and improving domestic logistics efficiency. The operations are expected to contribute to the local industrial ecosystem through roles in quality engineering, plant management, logistics and vendor integration.

Logitech said production will expand under a structured roadmap, although it has not disclosed specific timelines or additional products planned for local manufacturing.
