Nikon India has announced the Nikon Z5IIC, a new full-frame mirrorless camera with the Nikon Z mount aimed at first-time mirrorless users, enthusiasts and creators. The camera combines a full-frame sensor and Nikon's EXPEED 7 image-processing engine with automatic shooting modes, creator-focused video features and AI-powered autofocus.
Nikon Z5IIC Features And Specifications
The Z5IIC is Nikon's first full-frame mirrorless camera to feature scene modes directly on the mode dial. It offers 15 different scene modes covering subjects such as portraits, pets and food, along with more challenging situations including night landscapes and twilight.
When a scene is selected, the camera automatically adjusts more than six settings, including white balance and Picture Control. The camera also features a dedicated button for Nikon's Imaging Recipes, allowing users to quickly apply image presets created by Nikon and leading creators without having to manually configure shooting settings or rely on post-processing.
The Nikon Z5IIC uses deep-learning-based autofocus that can detect 10 different subject types. In AUTO mode, the camera can also recognise subjects and scenes and automatically optimise settings such as aperture, shutter speed, ISO sensitivity and autofocus.
For low-light photography, focus acquisition is possible down to -10 EV, which Nikon says can help when shooting environments such as concerts, dinner events and night street scenes. The camera features 5-axis in-body Vibration Reduction, offering up to 7.5 stops of compensation at the centre of the frame. This is designed to reduce camera shake when shooting handheld, including while capturing stills and video on the move.
The camera features a backside-illuminated CMOS sensor paired with Nikon's EXPEED 7 image-processing engine, the same processor used in Nikon's flagship model according to the company.
Nikon says the combination is designed to deliver detailed images with natural bokeh, smooth tonal gradations and reduced noise in low-light scenes. The Z5IIC also includes the Film Grain function, first introduced with the Nikon Zf, allowing users to add a nostalgic film-like appearance to photos and video, subject to certain limitations during video recording. The Z5IIC features a streamlined body designed to fit easily into a bag, along with an ergonomic grip for a secure hold. It comes with a 3.2-inch vari-angle touchscreen monitor, allowing users to shoot from different angles and frame selfies.
The touchscreen supports familiar gestures such as double-tap, pinch-to-zoom and swiping, while also allowing users to focus and release the shutter. Nikon says the camera has also been designed with dust and drip resistance, with magnesium alloy used in key areas of the body for additional rigidity.
For creators, the Z5IIC supports 4K UHD video recording at up to 60fps and Full HD recording at up to 120fps. The camera also supports 4x and 5x slow-motion recording in Full HD, depending on the selected frame rate.
A dedicated REC lamp and red frame indicator on the monitor make it easier to confirm when recording is underway. The camera also features Product Review Mode, which automatically shifts focus to an item brought close to the camera, making it particularly useful for product reviews and demonstrations. The Z5IIC can also function as a webcam through a direct USB connection to a PC, with support for UVC/UAC. For more advanced video workflows, it supports H.265 10-bit MOV and N-Log, while N-RAW video can also be recorded to an SD memory card.
The camera can shoot continuously at up to approximately 14fps, while its High-Speed Frame Capture+ mode supports continuous shooting at up to 30fps. The Pre-Release Capture function can record up to one second of footage before the shutter is fully released, helping users capture moments that might otherwise be missed.
Nikon has also added Fish to its subject-detection options for the first time. The camera supports Nikon Imaging Cloud for post-shooting data management and can automatically transfer images to smartphones through SnapBridge. SnapBridge also receives a camera-simulation function designed to help users learn shooting settings, alongside photography tips organised by different themes.
Nikon Z5IIC Price and Availability in India
The Nikon Z5IIC body-only is priced at Rs 1,39,995 in India. It will be available from mid-October 2026 through Nikon outlets across the country in black and silver colour options.
The Nikon Z5IIC is positioned as a more approachable entry point into Nikon's full-frame system, with scene modes, Imaging Recipes and AI-powered autofocus reducing the learning curve for new users. At the same time, 4K 60fps video, Product Review Mode, N-Log, N-RAW and 7.5-stop stabilisation give creators enough flexibility to grow beyond automatic shooting.
