Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Beta Preview Brings 70+ APAC Creators to South Korea

The three-day experience connected the upcoming game with South Korean culture and history, featuring visits to the DMZ, a local PC Bang #CODNext viewing and early hands-on gameplay.

Ahead of the worldwide launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Activision hosted an exclusive Korea Beta Preview Experience in Seoul, bringing together more than 70 creators from across the APAC region for a multi-day event.

The event was designed to connect the world of Modern Warfare 4 with South Korea's culture, history and geography, giving participating creators an opportunity to experience locations and activities inspired by the game's setting and themes.

70+ APAC Creators Attend Modern Warfare 4 Preview

The three-day experience brought together more than 70 creators from across APAC, including 27 local creators from Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) and Southeast Asia (SEA).

Throughout the event, creators explored several locations across Seoul and surrounding areas before coming together for the global #CODNext livestream and an early hands-on session with Modern Warfare 4.

A key part of the programme involved visits to culturally and historically significant locations in South Korea. This included the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), giving creators an opportunity to experience a real-world location that helped connect the themes and setting of Modern Warfare 4 with South Korea.

The programme was built around creating a link between the game's fictional universe and the country's real-world geography and history.

The creators also experienced a South Korea-focused #CODNext event at a Seoul PC Bang. The gathering allowed participants to watch the global livestream together before getting hands-on access to Modern Warfare 4 ahead of the game's Beta.

Activision says the programme was designed as an experience that could only take place in South Korea, combining the game's themes with local culture and locations.

Modern Warfare 4 Beta Ahead of October Launch

The Korea Beta Preview Experience comes ahead of the worldwide launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on October 23. The event gave participating APAC creators an early opportunity to experience the upcoming title and share their impressions with their respective audiences.

Activision has also released an official recap video highlighting the three-day experience, including the creators' exploration of Korea, the #CODNext livestream and their hands-on time with Modern Warfare 4. The Korea Beta Preview Experience is an interesting way for Activision to build anticipation for Modern Warfare 4 in the APAC region. Rather than limiting the preview to gameplay, the company connected the title's themes with South Korea's real-world locations, history and culture.

Bringing more than 70 creators together, including creators from ANZ and SEA, also gives Activision a broad regional platform ahead of the game's Beta and October 23 worldwide launch.
