Sony India has launched the FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G, its first fisheye zoom G Lens for full-frame Alpha E-mount cameras. The new lens offers an 8mm to 14mm focal range, allowing photographers and videographers to capture both circular and diagonal fisheye perspectives, which is designed for landscapes, architecture, sports and video production, the lens combines a compact design with high-resolution optics and autofocus capabilities.

The Sony FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G features an 8mm to 14mm zoom range, offering two distinct fisheye perspectives. At 8mm, the lens captures a circular fisheye image with a 180-degree angle of view, projected as a circular image on a full-frame sensor.
At 14mm, it delivers a diagonal fisheye perspective that covers the full frame, with a 180-degree diagonal angle of view. This allows users to adjust their composition and field of view based on the subject and creative requirements. The new Sony lens features an optical design incorporating ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass and aspherical elements to suppress chromatic and other aberrations across the image area. Sony says the lens maintains high resolution throughout its zoom range. It also offers a minimum focusing distance of 0.15 metres and a maximum magnification of 0.22x at the telephoto end, enabling close-up fisheye perspectives for both still photography and video recording.
The Sony FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G measures approximately 63.1mm in maximum diameter and 82.8mm in length, while weighing around 314g. Its internal zoom mechanism helps minimise changes in the centre of gravity while zooming, supporting stable operation during handheld, gimbal and rig-based shooting. The lens also supports spatial content production, including VR applications. When paired with two VENICE Extension System Mini units positioned side by side, the optical axes are approximately 64mm apart, closely matching the average human interpupillary distance to help create a natural sense of depth and distance. The new fisheye lens offers fast and precise autofocus, along with Linear Response Manual Focus. Sony says it suppresses focus breathing and operates quietly, making it suitable for movie production. Additional features include a focus mode switch, zoom lock switch and an aperture ring with switchable click stops for intuitive control. The lens also features a dust- and moisture-resistant design, along with a fluorine coating on the front element.
