OPPO has consistently impressed us with its focus on cameras, design, battery life, gaming capabilities, and durability. But with the Reno14 series, the spotlight is clearly on photography. Alongside major improvements in imaging, OPPO has also enhanced productivity tools and the AI experience, all while maintaining an impressively slim and stylish design.
We’ve spent some time with the OPPO Reno14 series, and here’s what our experience looks like.
Mastering the Quad Camera Setup on Both Phones With AI Power
The OPPO Reno14 series brings some serious firepower in the camera department, and we couldn’t wait to take it for a spin. On the Reno14, you get a 50MP Sony IMX882 main sensor with OIS, a 50MP JN5 telephoto lens offering 3.5x zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies, there’s a 50MP JN5 front camera with autofocus that’s sharp and reliable.

The Reno14 Pro takes things a step further with a 50MP OV50E primary sensor, a matching 50MP JN5 telephoto lens, and a 50MP OV50D ultra-wide camera. The selfie camera remains the same as the one on the Reno14 and delivers equally crisp results.
To see how far these cameras can go, we took the Reno14 series on a trip to Dehradun. From dramatic skylines to intimate portraits and everything in between, the Reno14 Pro performed brilliantly. Take a look at some of our favourite pictures from the trip.
One of the standout features of the Reno14 series is its telephoto zoom capability. Using the 3.5x zoom, we were able to capture sharp and well-composed shots without needing to adjust our position. Even in situations where we zoomed from a distance without carefully framing the shot, the results remained consistently impressive. The images displayed excellent detail, accurate colour reproduction, and a commendable level of clarity across various subjects.
While photography is clearly a strong suit for the Reno14 series, OPPO has paid equal attention to video performance. The inclusion of AI-enhanced 4K recording at 60fps brings a professional edge to everyday videography. This feature is available across the main, ultra-wide, and telephoto lenses, allowing us to shift perspectives fluidly while maintaining high visual fidelity. The seamless experience reflects a well-rounded approach to imaging that doesn’t compromise between stills and motion.
The primary camera on the OPPO Reno14 series delivers a dynamic range that immediately stands out. Colour reproduction, particularly the greens and blues, feels thoughtfully tuned, lending landscapes a vibrant yet true-to-life aesthetic.
Portrait performance is equally commendable. To assess subject separation and background rendering, we shot portraits at two focal lengths: 48mm and 85mm. The results were impressive. The red of the subject’s t-shirt remained vivid and consistent, while skin tones appeared natural and well-balanced. Edge detection showed remarkable precision, capturing even fine strands of hair without smudging or softness.
Switching to the ultra-wide lens, the Reno14 series held its ground. Unlike many competitors that struggle with noise around the edges, this camera maintained clarity across the frame. The subject remained in focus, the background retained depth, and the overall image preserved excellent dynamic range.
The portrait selfie camera followed suit. Even when challenged with flyaway strands of hair, the edge separation remained intact, offering a clean and detailed result.
As for low-light photography, the Reno14 series demonstrates a clear advantage. Whether under ambient artificial lighting or in significantly dimmer conditions, the camera preserved detail without introducing noise. Blacks appeared rich and defined, and even direct light sources were handled with minimal flaring, making low-light shooting far more reliable than most in this segment.
One of the more unexpected highlights was the new flash setup. Both the main and ultra-wide cameras are equipped with dedicated flash units that are significantly brighter than before, up to 10 times more powerful. So, if you’re into low-light photography or find yourself clicking pictures at late-night events, the flash adds depth and brightness without blowing out the scene.

The Reno14 series also comes equipped with smart photography tools, including AI Perfect Shot, AI Recompose, AI Unblur, AI Eraser, AI Reflection Remover, AI Studio, and even a dedicated underwater photography mode. In our brief hands-on, AI Recompose stood out by automatically adjusting the aspect ratio, fixed distortion, and even suggested smart crops, giving our photos a more balanced, polished look without us having to dive into manual edits. Whether we were shooting indoors or outdoors, the phone seemed to intuitively know how to make every picture social media-ready.
We also tried the AI Eraser, which was very easy to use. With just a quick tap, we were able to remove unwanted people or random objects from our otherwise perfect pictures, and the phone did a solid job filling in the background without any obvious traces. Elegance Without the Trade-Off
If you’ve ever found yourself stuck choosing between a phone that looks stunning and one that can actually keep up with real life, the OPPO Reno14 series makes that decision a whole lot easier.

We’ve been using both the Reno14 series for some time now, and what stood out instantly was the design. The OPPO Reno14 is available in two refined finishes: Pearl White and Forest Green. While the Pearl White leans into understated elegance, it’s the Forest Green that truly commands attention—and it’s easily our favourite. The rich, grounded aesthetic feels contemporary yet deeply inspired by nature’s palette, giving the phone a distinctive look that stands out without trying too hard. The Pro variant also has the Pearl White finish, along with the Titanium Grey colour to choose from.
The industry-first velvet glass finish on the Pearl White variant marks a bold design departure, elevating not just the look but the feel of the Reno14 series. However, this standout treatment is limited to the white variants, making them the go-to choice for those who value both form and finesse. It feels smooth in the hand without being slippery, adding a touch of finesse that you can actually feel. Whether we were scrolling through photos or just holding it during long calls, the in-hand feel made a noticeable difference.

The Reno14 Pro builds on the same design language but with added character. The Titanium Grey finish brings a sleek, assertive presence that feels both modern and minimal. Measuring just 7.48mm thick and weighing 201 grams, it’s impressively slim and lightweight, positioning itself as a standout in a crowded field. What truly elevates the experience is its ergonomic build, offering comfort and control whether you’re binge-scrolling or capturing content on the fly.

One area where both phones really impressed us was durability. With IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, the Reno14 and Reno14 Pro are engineered to withstand the elements. Whether it was a drizzly afternoon in Delhi or a casual moment by the pool, these devices never gave us a reason to second-guess their durability. The aerospace-grade aluminium frame not only feels sturdy, but it also handles everyday mishaps like champs. And yes, a few accidental drops occurred along the way, but both devices emerged unscathed. OPPO claims it’s 200% stronger than plastic, with better bend resistance and improved drop protection, and we’ve got no reason to doubt it. There’s also 360-degree armour protection built in, which quietly reassures you that the internals are just as safe as the stylish exterior.
So no, the OPPO Reno14 series isn’t just about good looks. It’s about being able to rely on your phone when life gets a little chaotic. It’s elegant, yes, but also tough, thoughtful, and designed to fit seamlessly into your daily routine.
Beauty Backed by Brains

When we first got our hands on the OPPO Reno14 series, we weren’t just curious about the design; we were eager to see how it performs when pushed. The standard Reno14, running on the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chip with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, surprised us right out of the gate. Whether it was quick multitasking or loading up our daily gaming sessions, everything felt effortless. The responsiveness, especially while jumping between apps or handling background tasks, never missed a beat. What really helped elevate the experience is OPPO’s latest ColorOS 15, which not only looks sharp but also feels incredibly fluid, thanks to the Trinity Engine for smarter resource management and the Luminous Rendering Engine that delivers lifelike animations throughout the interface.
We also found the AI productivity features built into ColorOS genuinely useful. Tools like AI Summary and AI Recording Summary came in handy when we needed quick meeting notes or instant recaps, saving us time and allowing us to stay in the moment instead of scrambling to jot things down.
The Reno14 Pro takes things up a notch with the India-first Dimensity 8450 processor. On paper, it’s clearly more powerful, but in real life, it showed its strength in how confidently it handled intense gaming sessions. We tested out BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile, both on max settings, and it didn’t flinch. The gameplay was buttery-smooth, frame rates were stable, and even after a long match, the phone didn’t heat up, thanks to the nano dual-driver cooling system working silently in the background.
One moment that stood out was during our trip to Dehradun. We were in the hills—gorgeous views and, surprisingly, uninterrupted connectivity thanks to AI LinkBoost 3.0. While patchy networks are usually the norm in such remote areas, we stayed connected effortlessly, sharing photos, answering calls, and navigating without a hitch. It’s those small things that really make a difference when you’re out and about.
So yes, on paper the specifications are impressive, but in real-world usage, the Reno14 series proves it can walk the talk—from gaming to travel, and everything in between.
The Journey Continues…
After spending quality time with the OPPO Reno14 series, we can safely say that these phones don’t just tick boxes; they’ve left a lasting impression. Whether it was capturing the changing skies in Dehradun or juggling between gaming and shooting content on the go, the experience has been consistently solid.
What stood out most wasn’t just the numbers on paper, but how these phones handled everyday chaos with ease. We’ve seen it happen right in front of us, and soon, you’ll see it too in our full reviews.
If you’ve been caught in the “should I, shouldn’t I” loop while choosing your next smartphone, the Reno14 series deserves a serious look. It’s reliable, good-looking, and surprisingly versatile. And trust us—we’ve only scratched the surface. There’s a lot more to come, so keep checking MySmartPrice for everything you’ll want to know before making that final decision.
