The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE Launched in India: New Chapter or Déjà Vu?

Samsung kicked off the year with the Galaxy S25 series in January and later slipped in a surprise with the Galaxy S25 Edge. Now, it's time for the Fan Edition to join the lineup. The Galaxy S25 FE is gearing up for its India launch, and the big question on everyone's mind is simple: will it finally feel like a meaningful upgrade, or are we about to see Samsung hit replay once again? Let’s take a deeper look at the FE model.

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE: The Fan Edition Returns

Samsung's Galaxy S25 FE makes quite the first impression with its 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. On paper, you get up to a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10 support, and a peak brightness of 1,900 nits. That number suggests you'll have no trouble using it in bright sunlight, but I'll only know for sure once I've used it outdoors myself. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ keeps things protected, and at least in specs, the display does look promising. The real test, of course, is how it feels in everyday use, and that's what I'll be watching closely.

Powering the phone is Samsung's own Exynos 2400 chip backed by a 4nm manufacturing process. Benchmarks aren't out yet, so there's no way to know where it stands on performance charts, but I'll be putting it through the usual rounds soon. Exynos chips don't always have the best track record with thermals, so my curiosity is high to see if this one finally changes that. The 4,900mAh battery should easily last a day, though I wish Samsung had gone with a clean 5,000mAh number. Charging sits at 45W, which feels familiar since that's what we already see on Samsung's flagships. However, the charging adapter is sold separately, so buyers will still have to shell out extra money for the charger.

Cameras are where the Galaxy S25 FE sticks to the essentials. You get a 50MP primary with OIS, an 8MP telephoto offering up to 3x zoom, and a 12MP ultra-wide. For selfies, there's a 12MP front shooter, which should be more than enough for casual shots and video calls.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE comes loaded with OneUI 8 on Android 16. It also brings along a set of AI-powered tools, including Gemini Live, Now Bar, Circle to Search, and Knox Vault. These features step in when you need them most, making tasks feel smoother and smarter.

Design-wise, it's hard to spot the difference between this FE and Samsung's pricier flagships. It carries the same clean and minimal style, which I think works well. Most people won't be able to tell at a glance that it's not the top-end model. Colour options include IcyBlue, Jet Black, Navy and White. Personally, the Navy variant really stands out to me, though it's nice that buyers have more than one safe choice.

What's Changed Since the Last Version?

At first glance, you'd struggle to tell the Galaxy S25 FE apart from last year's S24 FE. The design is familiar, and even the display, camera setup, and wired charging haven't really moved forward.

The biggest shift comes under the hood. Samsung has swapped the Exynos 2400e for the Exynos 2400, which, on paper, should mean better performance. I'm curious to see if that actually translates into smoother real-world use, but I'll need to spend time with the phone before making that call.

Samsung has also made three minor but meaningful adjustments. The battery now packs 200mAh more, which should help with longevity in terms of usage, and the selfie camera gets a tiny 2MP bump. It's not groundbreaking, but it's something you'll probably notice in day-to-day use. During the launch presentation, they also mentioned how this year’s addition has managed to shed some weight and inches despite the increase in the battery size. They also claimed that it is improving the overall hand feel. We did try the phone for a bit, but we will be looking at having the S24 FE and S25 FE side by side to know for sure if the current generation phone feels slimmer and lighter.

So yes, there are a few upgrades here and there, but don't expect a completely new experience compared to last year.

Availability and India Pricing

Storage options include 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. The base variant is priced at $650 (approximately ₹57,300), while the 8GB + 256GB model is listed at $710 (around ₹62,570).
