Vivo T3 Pro Review: T3riffic battery, Pro Performance

The Vivo T3 Pro is one of the most flamboyant phones I have used. Its whole existence is now redefining the motive behind Vivo’s ‘T’ series of smartphones. Their previous belief was to make affordable phones capable of performing tremendously with a reliable battery. But, with the T3 Pro, it appears that design has begun to become one of their core focus.

Now, the question arises: Has Vivo given equal weight to other aspects of the phone as well besides its design? If yes, will it prosper in cementing itself against the Infinix GT 20 Pro and the OnePlus Nord CE4? Let’s dive in and find out in this review.

Vivo T3 Pro Review: Pricing and Availability in India

The Vivo T3 Pro is available via Flipkart, Vivo’s official website and retail stores. You can avail of an instant bank discount of Rs 3,000. Here are the prices for all the variants:

Variant Pricing

8GB RAM + 256GB Storage Rs 26,999

Vivo T3 Pro Review: Design and Build Quality

The Vivo T3 Pro has a drool-worthy design. The 5,500mAh battery inside the phone has brought it to 190 grams, which is on the heavier side. That said, the weight distribution makes it easier to lug around.

Additionally, its lean structure enhances the overall experience of using the phone. It is a nitpick, but the tall aspect ratio makes one-hand usage slightly challenging for folks like me who have raccoon-like hands.

Design Specifications
Weight 190g
Thickness 7.99mm
IP rating IP64
Port and Button placements Bottom: SIM tray, primary microphone, USB port, and speaker grille

Top: Secondary microphone

Right Side: Power button and volume button

The Vivo T3 Pro’s back panel is equally relishing. The vegan leather helps you keep smudges away. In case you are a messy eater, it is advisable to use a cover for this phone since it is susceptible to stains.

You can grab this phone in a shade of Sandstone Orange and Emerald Green. The former colourway is quite peppy, catching the eye of the public very easily. But if you have a thing for subtle elegance, the green variant should suffice. Besides, the golden detailing done around the camera island and its usage as the colour of the railing add a nice touch and elevate the overall look.

The phone is IP64-rated for dust and water resistance, which is acceptable but not on par with the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion, which offers much better protection with its IP68 rating despite costing relatively less.

Vivo T3 Pro Review: Display and Audio

Just like most modern smartphones, the T3 Pro also comes with a curved display. That said, it opts for a more subtle curvature which is something I’ve started preferring.

Besides, I cherished every bit of watching hour-long gameplays of Black Myth Wukong on YouTube, since the picture quality was crisp whilst the colours were vibrant and accurate with on-point consistency. Out of the box, it supports Widevine L1 certification, meaning it can play 1080p videos on streaming services like Netflix. The cherry on top is that it can also run HDR videos on Netflix.

Display Specifications
Size 6.77-inch
Type AMOLED
Resolution FHD+ (1080 x 2392)
Refresh rate 120Hz
Peak brightness Claimed: 4500 nits, Tested: 1545 nits
Minimum brightness 07 nits
Display protection Schott Glass
Other features Wet Touch Technology

The screen was adequately bright indoors, even at 50 per cent intensity. Outdoors, I had no challenges using the phone since it was quite legible.

The speakers of this phone were quite good. They get pretty loud and are adept at emitting crisp and clear audio even at 75 per cent. However, in some instances, the speaker failed to get the highs right.

Vivo T3 Pro Review: Performance and Software

I am glad that Vivo went with Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 as the processor of their choice for the T3 Pro. It’s quite a capable chipset and this is reflected in the synthetic benchmarks.

Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G

vivo T3 Pro

Motorola Edge 50 Fusion

AnTuTu Overall benchmark score analysis

Moreover, Vivo has managed to keep the thermals in check. The CPU throttling test returned a very rare score, where it couldn’t detect any throttling. While the phone returned respectable scores in the AnTuTu benchmark, it fell slightly behind the similarly priced Infinix GT 20 Pro.

Hardware Specifications
Processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3
RAM 8GB LPDDR4X
Storage Up to 256GB UFS 2.2
Storage Test 62914
CPU Throttling Test No throttling detected
Geekbench 6 Multi-core: 2740, Single-core: 1118
Software version FuntouchOS based on Android 14
Connectivity details Dual SIM, Dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, USB 2.0, GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS,

Galileo, QZSS

Throughout my usage, I didn’t encounter any lag or stutter. I also played Call of Duty: Mobile and BGMI a lot in the past few days, and here are the things that I observed in my playthroughs:

Game Graphic Quality FPS Result
Call of Duty: Mobile Maximum: Very High Quality + Max FPS Maximum: 60 fps

Minimum: 56.9 fps

The gameplay was buttery smooth. I didn’t notice any lag or stutter.
Call of Duty: Mobile Minimum: Low Quality + Ultra FPS Maximum: 89.6 fps

Minimum: 86.6 fps

Despite the FPS meter showing a bit of frame drop, the gameplay was consistently smooth.
BGMI Maximum: Ultra HDR Quality + Ultra FPS Maximum: 40 fps

Minimum: 38.5 fps

At the highest graphics settings, the streak of smoothness was still maintained, continuing from CODM.
BGMI Minimum: Smooth Quality + Extreme FPS Maximum: 59.9 fps.

Minimum: 56.9 fps

The gameplay was smooth with no issues encountered.

Overall, the phone was quite skilled at running heavy games with consistent performance. That said, the newly launched Realme 13 Plus can run BGMI at 90 fps, despite using a Dimensity 7300 chipset. I hope Vivo works with BGMI to enable this mode so that gamers can enjoy higher framerates.

The phone runs on FuntouchOS 14, based on Android 14. While interacting with the UI elements, the animations felt as smooth as MJ’s moonwalk. The one aspect that held it down was bloatware and the notorious duo of hot apps and hot games. These are also accompanied by a few spam notifications.

Following the current trend of adding AI features to phones, it gets the AI eraser and photo enhancement to iron out a few kinks from images.

Vivo T3 Pro Review: Camera

The Vivo T3 Pro sports a dual camera setup. But the camera module might pull a fast one on you into believing that it has three lenses.

Camera Specifications
Primary Camera 50-megapixel with OIS, ƒ/1.79
Secondary Camera 8-megapixel ultrawide, ƒ/2.2
Selfie Camera 16-megapixel, ƒ/2.45
Video recording capabilities Up to 4K at 30 fps, video stabilisation: EIS/OIS

The primary camera can capture crisp and detailed shots in daylight scenarios. However, it tended to function at a lower shutter speed even when it was nice and bright outside. This might cause you to lose out on memorable moments. It is also worth noting that the primary camera is currently going through a rocky patch with HDR; its impact is that the primary shooter’s processing struggles with reviving the highlight details in photos with harsh backlight. We have brought this to Vivo’s attention. Since Vivo is counted among the few brands that instantly work on removing glitches when highlighted, we are expecting them to fix these specific issues soon.

On the flip side, the ultrawide camera has better processing in terms of HDR – something unheard of in this price segment, because we are used to seeing some run-of-the-mill, forgettable shooters.

The low-light photography is satisfactory. The main shooter is competent in taking detailed shots. However, its trait of slow shutter speed heightens with a dip in lighting to compensate for better illumination. This results in blurry images with a slight movement. Speaking of ultrawide, it excels at handling colours in low-light conditions – it is what I feel. Objectively, it lacks in capturing details.

Portrait photography is where the camera shines the most. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of capturing it. If you provide enough light to the camera, it has a flair for taking praiseworthy photos. Moreover, it has a phenomenal selection of presets that further take this particular photography to new heights. For people who fancy taking selfies, it is adept at taking a few great images, given the ample lighting available. But it inclines to smoothen out human skin in dimly lit environments

Vivo T3 Pro Review: Battery and Charging

The tremendous attribute of the Vivo T3 Pro is its outstanding battery life. It is hard to believe that with the lean structure it has, Vivo managed to pack in a 5500 mAh battery. Man, it has the expertise of lasting more than a day of moderate usage, from endless reels scrolling to capturing moments to casual gaming.

Battery Specifications
Battery 5500mAh
Charging Adapter 80W fast charging, charger-in-the-box
Charging Time 1 hour, 53 seconds
PCMark battery test 21 hours and 36 minutes

In the PCMark battery test, it lasted for 21 hours and 36 minutes, which is by far the highest in our testing.

Complementing its impressive battery life, it comes with an 80W fast charger, which juices up the device from zero to full in just 1 hour.

Vivo T3 Pro Review: Verdict

The starting price of the Vivo T3 Pro is Rs 24,999. At this price, it has a stunning design with great build quality. Its AMOLED display makes watching content a delightful experience, and the camera has the strength to take impressive portraits. It is equally versed in tackling everyday tasks and moderate gaming with ease. The cherry on top is its outstanding battery life combined with its fast charging.

If this kind of package thrills you, this phone is an ideal choice. However, there are a few minor compromises that you may endure: The colour reproduction is an area of improvement for the primary camera, coupled with the existence of bloatware in the UI.

For shutterbugs, the Vivo V30e is a better choice. If you are looking for a clean software experience, the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion is a worthy contender.
