CMF has expanded its audio portfolio in India with the launch of the CMF Buds Neo, a new pair of affordable true wireless earbuds. The Nothing sub-brand is positioning the Buds Neo as its most accessible earbuds yet, focusing on a combination of audio quality, active noise cancellation, long battery life and a distinctive design.
The new earbuds arrive nearly two years after the launch of the CMF Buds Pro 2 in 2024 and will serve as the entry point to CMF’s wireless earbuds lineup in India.
The CMF Buds Neo feature a compact design with a dual-tone finish and a square-shaped charging case. A circular dial on the case adds a visual flourish, while a built-in lanyard hole allows users to attach a strap for easier carrying.
CMF Buds Neo Specifications and Features
The CMF Buds Neo are equipped with 12.4mm dynamic drivers, which are designed to deliver deeper bass while maintaining vocal clarity and finer audio details. The driver uses a titanium-coated PET dome along with a PEEK and PU surround, allowing greater movement.
Users can customise the audio experience through the Nothing X app. The earbuds offer six EQ presets, including Pop, Rock, Electronic, Classical and Enhance Vocals, along with a Custom EQ option for more personalised sound tuning.
CMF has also included a Bass Enhancement feature with two levels of bass boost. The Buds Neo additionally support spatial audio, which is intended to create a wider soundstage for movies, concerts and other compatible content.
Active Noise Cancellation is one of the key features of the new earbuds. The CMF Buds Neo offer up to 35dB of ANC and include three different noise cancellation levels, along with an Adaptive mode that automatically adjusts the level of noise reduction depending on the user’s surroundings.
For voice calls, the earbuds use four microphones combined with Clear Voice Technology, which is designed to improve voice clarity, particularly when users are outdoors or in noisy environments.
Battery life is another major focus. According to CMF, the Buds Neo can offer up to 52 hours of total playback with ANC switched off. With noise cancellation enabled, the total battery life is rated at up to 30 hours. The company also claims that a quick 10-minute charge can deliver up to 5.5 hours of playback.
The CMF Buds Neo support Bluetooth 6.0 and dual-device connectivity, allowing users to switch between two connected devices. Other connectivity features include Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair.
Gamers also get a 120ms low-latency mode, which can be enabled through the Nothing X app. For durability, the earbuds carry an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, while the charging case has an IPX2 rating.
