AI features on phones usually sound better than they actually are. So when I got my hands on the iQOO Z11 I wanted to see which category its AI features will fall into. After some experiments, I think that the AI Captions feature on the iQOO Z11 is one of the few that you can just switch on and start using without thinking too much about it.
It's built into the system, so once you turn it on from settings, it works across apps. I tried it while watching a video during an auto ride, I forgot my earbuds, and it was way too noisy. Since I had already turned on the feature from the Settings app, it immediately started putting out live subtitles on the screen. You don't really have to do anything beyond enabling it. After that, it just picks up whatever's playing and converts it into text in real time.

Where it becomes more useful is outside of videos. It also works during calls, voice notes, and even meetings, so if someone's not very clear or there's background noise, you can just read the captions instead of asking them to repeat things. You can also save parts of the text, which means it's not just a one-time thing, you can go back to it later if needed. So, no missing out on important points.
It's not perfect, yes. Multiple people talking at once can throw it off, and the phrasing isn't always exact. But in most one-on-one situations or with cleaner audio, it works well enough to follow along without missing any context.
