Samsung Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37 First-Impressions: Looks That Make You Say ‘WOW’

Samsung kicked off 2026 with the Galaxy S26 series, and now the brand has launched its next-gen mid-range smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy A57 and A37 have been launched in India at a price of Rs 56,999 and Rs 41,999, respectively. The company has made various improvements to both of these smartphones, including the design, hardware, and software as well. In the Indian market, the Samsung Galaxy A56 will compete with the Pixel 10a, iPhone 17e, Oppo Reno 15 Pro Mini, and the Vivo V70 Elite.

When we unboxed both of these smartphones, our ‘first impression’ was literally ‘WOW’. Samsung has done a great job in making these phones look attractive as well as feel premium.

Samsung’s Most Beautiful A Series Phones Yet!

We have received very interesting colour variants. The Samsung Galaxy A57 is in Awesome Navy colour, and the Galaxy A37 is in Awesome Lavender colour. Unlike before, both of these smartphones feature premium-looking glossy back panels, which are, of course, glass. The Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ also protects them on both sides: front and back. On the sides, the Samsung Galaxy A57 features an aluminium frame with a matte finish, and the Galaxy A37 comes with a plastic frame, also with a matte finish.

The in-hand feel of the Samsung Galaxy A57 is also improved, with a thinner and lighter body. It measures 6.9mm in thickness and weighs only 179 grams. However, the Galaxy A37 is almost the same as last year, measuring 7.4mm in thickness and weighing 196 grams. This difference is also noticeable in the real world, as the Galaxy A57 feels sleeker than the Galaxy A37.

However, both smartphones follow the signature Samsung design language, with a cylindrical camera bump on the back and Samsung’s branding at the bottom. They also look pretty identical from a distance, but when you actually hold them, you’ll notice the difference.

Vibrant Displays For The Segment!

What I really like about the Samsung Galaxy A series is that it offers one of the best display experiences in the segment. Both smartphones are equipped with the same display, which might not sound very impressive on paper, but looks very pretty when you actually use the phones. It is a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and support for a 120Hz refresh rate.

The phones feel bright and slick with this display. Samsung is claiming 1900 nits of peak brightness, and it is literally quite bright, even if you use it under direct sunlight. You will like watching movies and shows on these phones. This screen produces vibrant colour, and the details also remain intact. However, I’d expect a higher resolution than FHD+ at this price point.

However, the overall experience is really nice. You will actually like scrolling through these phones. And OneUI 8.5 adds the cherry on top with its modern transitions, animations, and smoothness.

What About Power?

The Samsung Galaxy A57 is powered by a 4nm Exynos 1680 processor, which promises 15% better CPU and GPU performance than its predecessor. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy A37 runs on a 4nm Exynos 1480 processor, and you get 12% CPU jump and 19% GPU jump with this SoC.

Now, how these phones perform compared to their competitors will be revealed shortly, as we are still testing them. So, for in-depth details about their performance, you will have to wait a little longer.

Furthermore, these processors are paired with a 5000mAh battery with 45-watt fast charging on both phones. The battery capacity and the charging speed should have been higher, as the smartphones between Rs 40,000 and Rs 60,000 are offering insane battery specifications these days.

Almost The Same Camera Setup

There is only one difference in the camera setup between these two: the Galaxy A57 is equipped with a 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and the Galaxy A37 has an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor. Below are the ultrawide camera samples of both these phones.

You won’t notice much difference in these samples, but when you zoom in, Galaxy A57’s pictures are slightly more detailed because of more pixels in the image.

The rest of the camera specifications are the same: a 50-megapixel main camera along with a 5-megapixel macro lens. Here are a few camera samples:

Samsung has made plenty of headlines with its Galaxy S26 series, regarding its new Privacy Display Feature, Horizontal Lock, and much more. Now let’s see what wonders the Galaxy A57 and A37 can do. We are currently testing these devices, so if you’re thinking of buying them, stay tuned to our website and YouTube for reviews.
