Infinix has launched the Infinix Note 60 Pro in India, positioning it as a design-led mid-range device that combines interactive hardware with a more performance-focused platform. The device introduces a new Active Matrix LED system integrated into the camera module, alongside Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 performance and a large 6500mAh battery. With this, Infinix is attempting to move beyond conventional spec-led positioning and build a more distinctive identity in a crowded segment.
The Note 60 Pro marks a shift for Infinix, becoming its first device powered by a Snapdragon platform, paired with a 3D VC cooling system to maintain sustained performance under load. The company claims an AnTuTu score of over 1 million and support for 120FPS gameplay in titles like Call of Duty: Mobile, positioning the device toward gaming and high-performance use cases.
Display and Audio
On the front, the device features a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 4500 nits peak brightness. The panel is TÜV-certified for eye protection, targeting extended viewing sessions. Audio is handled by dual stereo speakers tuned by JBL, with a focus on delivering a more immersive media and gaming experience.
Design and Active Matrix System
The most distinctive element of the Note 60 Pro is its Active Matrix Display, built into the camera module using 288 independent LED pixels. This system allows users to view notifications, calls, charging status, and alerts without unlocking the device. It also supports custom lighting patterns, mini-games, and music-synced effects, adding an interactive layer to the hardware. The phone itself uses a 360-degree aerospace-grade aluminium frame, paired with a design developed in collaboration with Pininfarina, giving it a more structured and premium in-hand feel.
Battery and Charging
The device packs a 6500mAh battery with support for 90W wired charging and 30W wireless charging. It also includes reverse charging and bypass charging features aimed at managing heat during extended usage.
Infinix claims the battery is rated for up to 2300 charge cycles, with AI-based optimisation to balance speed and long-term durability.
Camera and Imaging
The Note 60 Pro features a 50MP OIS main camera paired with an ultra-wide lens, with support for Ultra HDR and 4K video recording. Features like Live Photo and AI-based tools aim to improve everyday shooting flexibility, while the 13MP front camera supports wide selfies and dual video modes.
Software and Longevity
The device runs on XOS 16, based on Android 16, with features like a One-Tap AI button, Folax voice assistant, and AI Studio tools for content generation and editing.
Infinix is promising three years of OS updates and five years of security patches, aligning with growing expectations around long-term software support.
Pricing and Availability
The Infinix Note 60 Pro starts at ₹28,999 and is available in Solar Orange, Deep Ocean Blue, and Mocha Brown colour options.
It comes in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB variants, with a Call of Duty: Mobile limited edition also available in select configurations.
Design as Differentiation, Not Just Specification
The Note 60 Pro is not trying to compete in the usual way. Most devices in this segment are defined by incremental upgrades, slightly better cameras, marginally faster chipsets, or larger batteries. Infinix is taking a different route by focusing on interaction and design as primary differentiators.
The Active Matrix system is the clearest example of this. It is not essential, but it is noticeable. And in a category where most phones look and feel increasingly similar, that alone carries value. At the same time, the fundamentals are still doing the heavy lifting. Snapdragon performance, a high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, and a large battery ensure that the device does not fall behind on core expectations. If the interactive elements feel meaningful in daily use, the Note 60 Pro could stand out as something more than just another mid-range option. If not, it risks being remembered as an interesting idea layered on top of an otherwise familiar formula.
