Smartphones have evolved from a communication device to an entertainment source and, with the adoption of advanced AI features, into a productivity tool. This next frontier of intelligence makes the device feel more personal and genuinely helpful.
This is exactly what OPPO brings to the Find X9 Series with its new collaboration with Google. The latest ColorOS 16 update aims to bring more than just a spec-sheet upgrade. Let’s understand why this matters not just to OPPO devices but also to OnePlus and Realme phones.
Didn’t We Have Gemini Already?
OPPO has brought a new Mind Space feature to Gemini, which is two steps above a regular AI assistant. It brings a human-first thinking approach, instead of throwing long and boring information. You can activate it by using a simple three-finger gesture and ask the assistant to analyse any content on your screen.
Whether you want to plan a trip based on something you saw on Instagram or order a product later, you can capture and store all of your plans directly using Gemini. It can also sync these details with other Google services.
This level of context-aware assistance is what separates OPPO’s Mind Space from a typical AI-powered chatbot, which is something the company claims. Another notable addition is the new Nano Banana model, which can be used to edit images using a simple text prompt.
The AI features further extend to boost your productivity with AI Call Summary, AI VoiceScribe, AI Recorder, AI Writer, and others. The key highlight in ColorOS is that all of your personal data is handled in a secure and encrypted environment powered by OPPO AI Private Computing Cloud and Google Cloud’s confidential computing services.
OPPO’s Alliance With Google
At this point, OPPO and Google are not trying to fight over which company offers the better AI features. They both are integrating the best of their tools to offer a seamless experience to the user. The OPPO Find X9 Series has access to most of the advanced AI tools that you can find on the Pixel 10 Series.
Until now, AI integrations in phones felt forced. On one hand, you have built-in tools for image editing and translation tools powered by your phone’s OEM, which may or may not be reliable. The alternative was to use third-party apps and chatbots to have a better experience. But with the OPPO-Google partnership, you only get the best of both.
Free Gemini AI Pro Subscription
OPPO is bundling three months of free Google AI Pro subscription with the OPPO Find X9 and Find X9 Pro. This will enable users to experience the peak potential of their devices by leveraging advanced Gemini AI models from Google.
The OPPO Find X9 Series is expected to launch in India in November 2025, while the global release is scheduled for October 28. However, the company has not announced any official date. The phone is already available in China and is currently a top flagship contender with its advanced AI features and camera power.
