POCO X8 and X8 Power Launched in India With Up to 10,000mAh Battery, Starting at Rs 29,999

POCO has launched the POCO X8 and POCO X8 Power in India, with the new X8 series focusing heavily on battery life, performance and durability. Both smartphones feature 1.5K AMOLED displays, Silicon-Carbon batteries, fast charging and multiple durability certifications.

POCO X8 and X8 Power Specifications And Features

Both smartphones feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 2772 × 1280 resolution and up to a 120Hz refresh rate. The panels support 12-bit colour depth and up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness, along with DCI-P3 wide colour gamut and TÜV Triple Eye Protection.

The POCO X8 Power additionally supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Both models feature stereo dual speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio, with the X8 offering up to 300% volume boost and the X8 Power going up to 400%.

The POCO X8 is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 Mobile Platform, built on a 4nm process with CPU speeds of up to 2.4GHz. It comes with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Meanwhile, the POCO X8 Power gets the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 Mobile Platform, making its India debut with the series. It offers CPU speeds of up to 2.6GHz, along with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The Power model also gets LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.

Battery life is one of the biggest differences between the two models. The POCO X8 packs a 9,000mAh Silicon-Carbon battery, supported by the Xiaomi Surge G1 Battery Management Chip. It supports 67W Xiaomi HyperCharge and 22.5W wired reverse charging, with a 67W charger included in the box.

The POCO X8 Power takes this further with a massive 10,000mAh Silicon-Carbon battery. It supports 100W Xiaomi HyperCharge and 27W wired reverse charging, while a 100W charger is included in the box.

The POCO X8 features a 50MP main camera with OIS, an f/1.8 aperture and a 5P lens, paired with a 2MP depth camera. Its camera features include Portrait Mode, HDR, Live Moments, Ultra HD Mode, Pro Mode and Dual Video. A 16MP front camera handles selfies and video calls.

The POCO X8 Power gets a 50MP OIS main camera with a wider f/1.5 aperture and 6P lens, alongside an 8MP ultrawide camera. It supports Auto Scene Detection and 2X in-sensor ultra-clear zoom. The phone can record 4K video at 30fps using both its rear and 32MP front cameras.

Durability is another major focus of the X8 series. Both smartphones feature Corning Gorilla Victus 2 and carry IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings. They also come with Five-Star Quality Certification from SGS and TÜV.

On the software side, both phones run Xiaomi HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. POCO promises four years of Android updates and six years of security patches.

POCO X8 Series Price and Availability in India

The POCO X8 is priced at Rs 29,999, while the POCO X8 Power costs Rs 35,999. Launch offers include a Rs 2,000 coupon discount along with a Rs 1,000 bank offer or exchange bonus, bringing the effective prices down to Rs 26,999 and Rs 32,999, respectively. Both smartphones will go on sale from September 11 at 12 noon exclusively via Flipkart. POCO is also offering 12-month no-cost EMI starting at Rs 2,250 per month for the X8 and Rs 2,750 per month for the X8 Power.

The POCO X8 series is clearly built around battery endurance without completely compromising on performance or display quality.
