Redmi 15A Launched In India With 6,300mAh Battery And 120Hz Display

Redmi has expanded its affordable smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the Redmi 15A, a new entry-level device that brings a mix of modern features, large battery capacity, and 5G connectivity. The handset is positioned as a budget-friendly option while still offering a high-refresh-rate display and AI-powered software features.

Price And Availability

The Redmi 15A starts at Rs. 12,999 for the base variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Other configurations include a 4GB + 128GB model priced at Rs. 14,499 and a 6GB RAM variant (likely paired with higher storage) priced at Rs. 16,499.

The smartphone is available in three colour options: Ace Black, Awesome Blue, and Amaze Purple. Sales are set to begin on April 3, with availability through Flipkart, Mi.com, and authorised Xiaomi retail stores across India.

Redmi 15A Specification

The Redmi 15A features a large 6.9-inch HD+ display that supports multiple refresh rates, including 60Hz, 90Hz, and up to 120Hz, offering smoother scrolling and improved responsiveness. The display also supports a 240Hz touch sampling rate and delivers up to 800 nits peak brightness, making it suitable for outdoor use.

On the software side, the device runs Android 16 with Xiaomi's HyperOS 3. Redmi is promising up to four years of Android updates and six years of security patches, which is notable for a phone in this segment. The phone also includes AI-driven features such as Google Gemini, Circle to Search, and Xiaomi Interconnectivity, aimed at improving productivity and user convenience.

Under the hood, the Redmi 15A is powered by an octa-core T8300 5G chipset, built on a 6nm process, paired with a Mali-G57 GPU. The device supports up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM, along with up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

Users can also expand storage up to 2TB via a microSD card, and the phone supports virtual RAM expansion, allowing for smoother multitasking.

For photography, the Redmi 15A features a dual rear camera setup, led by a 32-megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. On the front, the device includes an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

The handset comes with an IP52 rating, offering basic protection against dust and light splashes, which adds durability for everyday use.

One of the standout features of the Redmi 15A is its 6,300mAh battery, which the company claims can deliver up to two days of usage on a single charge. It supports 15W wired charging and also includes 7.5W reverse wired charging, allowing users to power other devices when needed.

Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, USB Type-C, USB OTG, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone also features stereo speakers and a fingerprint scanner for added convenience and security.
