Xiaomi has announced the first sale of the Redmi Turbo 5 in India. The Redmi Turbo 5 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor paired with up to LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The smartphone also features Xiaomi's 3D IceLoop cooling system and Game Turbo Wild Boost technology, which the company says can deliver sustained 120fps gameplay across more than 20 supported titles.
One of the biggest highlights of the device is its 7,540mAh battery, which Xiaomi claims is the largest battery ever used in a Redmi smartphone in India. The battery uses 16 percent Silicon-Carbon technology and supports 100W HyperCharge fast charging. Xiaomi says the phone can charge up to 51 percent in 30 minutes. The device also supports 27W reverse charging. The Redmi Turbo 5 features a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with up to 3,500 nits peak brightness and a 120Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate. The panel supports Dolby Vision, 12-bit colour depth with support for over 68 billion colours, and 3,840Hz PWM dimming.
For audio, the smartphone is equipped with dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio support. The smartphone sports a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary camera with OIS and EIS support. It also supports 4K video recording at 60fps. Xiaomi has also included Turbo Snap mode, which can capture up to 100 photos in 4.4 seconds, alongside AI-powered image editing tools.
Design, Durability and Software
The Redmi Turbo 5 features an aerospace-grade metal frame, dual-sided glass design, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection. It comes with IP66, IP68, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.
The device is available in Turbo White, Nitro Blue, and Asphalt Black colour options. It also features Pixel Matrix ring lights that react to notifications, calls, and music playback. On the software front, the smartphone runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and includes features such as Google Gemini, Circle to Search, HyperConnect, and other AI-powered tools. Xiaomi has promised four Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the device.
