Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy M47 5G will launch in India on June 29, adding a new option to its popular Galaxy M-series lineup. Aimed at young users, the upcoming smartphone focuses on performance, gaming, durability, and long-term software support.
M47 Comes With Gaming-Focused Features
Battery life is one of the key highlights of the Galaxy M47 5G. Samsung has equipped the device with a 6,000mAh battery and support for 45W fast charging, allowing users to spend less time plugged in. For gamers, Samsung is introducing Bypass Charging, a feature that powers the phone directly from the charger during gaming sessions instead of routing power through the battery. The company says this helps reduce heat generation and minimizes performance throttling during extended gameplay. Samsung is also bringing premium durability features to the Galaxy M47 5G. The smartphone will feature Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection, which the company claims offers up to four times better scratch resistance and protection against drops of up to two metres.
The Galaxy M47 5G will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset built on a 4nm process and paired with LPDDR5X RAM. Samsung says the combination is designed to deliver smoother multitasking, faster app performance, and improved power efficiency by reducing memory consumption. On the front, the device sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and enhanced touch response. Samsung says the panel is designed to provide a smooth experience across social media, gaming, video streaming, and everyday use. The Galaxy M47 5G will feature a 50MP triple rear camera setup with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) alongside a 12MP HDR selfie camera. Samsung says the OIS system helps reduce blur in photos and videos, while Nightography improves image quality in low-light conditions. Users will also be able to record videos in 4K resolution.
One UI 8.5, Galaxy AI Features, and Six Years of Support
The smartphone will ship with One UI 8.5 based on Android 16 out of the box. Samsung is promising six generations of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates, making it one of the longest-supported devices in its segment.
Additional software features include Circle to Search, Google Gemini integration, on-device Voice Mail, Samsung Wallet with Tap & Pay support, Auto Blocker, and Samsung Knox Vault security protection.
Samsung Galaxy M47 5G: What We Think
With a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, 6,000mAh battery, Gorilla Glass Victus+, AMOLED display, OIS-enabled cameras, and six years of software support, the Galaxy M47 5G appears to be Samsung's attempt at creating a well-rounded smartphone for users who prioritize reliability and longevity over benchmark-chasing performance.
Pricing remains under wraps for now, but Samsung has confirmed the device will be available in Rogue Red and Blaze Blue colour options when it launches on June 29.
