Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2026 Set for July 22 With Galaxy Z Fold 8 Series, Flip 8 And Watch 9 Lineup

Samsung has officially announced that its next Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on July 22 in London, where the company is expected to unveil its next generation of foldables, smartwatches, and Galaxy AI experiences. The event will begin at 6:30 PM IST and will be streamed live on Samsung’s website, Samsung Newsroom, and YouTube. Registrations for the event are now open.

The company says its upcoming Galaxy devices will combine AI-powered experiences with new hardware to deliver more personalised and adaptive user experiences, while continuing to push innovation in the foldable smartphone category.

Foldables Expected to Take Centre Stage

The biggest announcement is expected to be Samsung’s new foldable lineup. Reports suggest the company could launch three foldables this year, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8.

Samsung has already teased a noticeably wider foldable ahead of the event, indicating that the new Fold series could finally adopt a broader cover display, a change that users have been requesting for several generations. Leaks also point to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset powering the lineup, alongside brighter displays and larger batteries on the Ultra model.

Galaxy AI Gets Bigger Screens to Work With

Samsung is also expected to expand Galaxy AI with features designed specifically for foldables. The company says the new devices will combine intelligent capabilities with new form factors, suggesting deeper AI integration for multitasking, productivity, content creation, and everyday use.

The launch is likely to build on features such as Circle to Search, Live Translate, and AI-powered writing tools that debuted over the past year.

Galaxy Watch 9 Series May Arrive Alongside Foldables

Alongside the smartphones, Samsung is widely expected to introduce the Galaxy Watch 9 series, including a successor to the Galaxy Watch Ultra. Rumours suggest improvements in display brightness, battery capacity, and durability, making the watches more competitive in the premium smartwatch segment.

Android XR Smart Glasses Could Make an Appearance

Samsung may also offer an early preview of its long-rumoured smart glasses. The company has already confirmed collaborations with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster for future wearable devices built on Google’s Android XR platform, making Unpacked a likely stage for an initial showcase.

Samsung vs Competition

Samsung was one of the first companies to launch its foldable device and also showcased a tri-fold. Its latest iteration, Galaxy Z Fold 8 series is expected to compete with devices such as the Honor Magic V5, vivo X Fold 6, OPPO Find N6, and Google’s next-generation Pixel Fold. This year Samsung is expected to launch two foldables and it would be interesting to see how they company plans to move forward with its fold strategy. It is also expected that we will be seeing the Galaxy Watch 9 lineup at the upcoming Unpacked. This series will take on the Apple Watch Series 12 and Google Pixel Watch 4 in the premium smartwatch category.

This year’s Galaxy Unpacked looks less about introducing a completely new category and more about refining Samsung’s existing lineup. If the wider Fold design, improved hardware, and Galaxy AI enhancements come together as expected, Samsung could strengthen its position against Chinese foldable brands that have recently gained an edge in hardware innovation.
