Samsung teases a new direction for Galaxy foldables ahead of Galaxy Unpacked

With Galaxy Unpacked just around the corner, Samsung has begun building anticipation by releasing a series of teaser videos that hint at the future of its foldable smartphones. Rather than revealing devices directly, the company has opted for a playful campaign featuring everyday objects, suggesting that the next generation of Galaxy foldables could focus on new designs, form factors, and user experiences.

Everyday Objects Hint At A New Foldable Design Language

The teaser campaign, now live across Samsung’s social media platforms, showcases familiar objects including a chocolate bar, pizza slice, squeegee, dalgona candy, puzzle, and even the Taj Mahal. At first glance, the clips appear unrelated. However, each object shares a similar shape and aspect ratio, hinting at a common design language that Samsung appears to be carrying forward into its upcoming foldable lineup.

Although Samsung has not confirmed any hardware details, the videos suggest the company is preparing more than a routine specification upgrade. Instead, the campaign points towards new foldable designs that could introduce different screen sizes, aspect ratios, and interaction models, indicating a broader evolution of the Galaxy Z series.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Series Expected Pricing

The new Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, expected to be Samsung’s most premium foldable, is reportedly priced at EUR 2,199 (roughly Rs. 2,40,000) for the 256GB model. The 512GB and 1TB variants could retail for EUR 2,399 and EUR 2,799, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is tipped to start at EUR 1,299 (roughly Rs. 1,41,000) for the 256GB model, while the 512GB version may cost EUR 1,499 (roughly Rs. 1,60,000). For comparison, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 launched at EUR 1,199 and EUR 1,319 for the two storage variants and starts at Rs. 1,09,999 in India.

Samsung Doubles Down On Choice As Foldable Competition Grows

Samsung says its foldable journey has evolved significantly since the launch of the original Galaxy Fold. Over successive generations, the company has expanded the Galaxy Z lineup to cater to changing consumer needs, introducing features geared toward productivity, creativity, communication, and entertainment. Rather than centering its strategy on a single flagship experience, Samsung says it is focused on giving customers more choice through multiple form factors and richer software experiences.

While the teaser campaign stops short of confirming specific products, it strongly hints that Samsung will continue expanding its foldable portfolio with greater variety in size, proportions, and interaction models. More details are expected at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, where the company is widely anticipated to unveil its next generation of Galaxy Z foldables.
