THOMSON Google TV 5.0 QLED TVs Launched in India Starting at Rs. 10,999

THOMSON has introduced a new range of Google TV 5.0-powered QLED smart TVs in India, further expanding its Phoenix smart TV portfolio in the country. The new lineup arrives in 32-inch, 40-inch, and 43-inch screen sizes and will be available exclusively through Flipkart starting today. Prices begin at Rs. 10,999.

The latest launch comes at a time when the affordable smart TV segment in India is becoming increasingly competitive, especially in the smaller screen-size category, where demand continues to remain strong across bedrooms, compact homes, and even commercial spaces. Instead of focusing only on hardware upgrades, THOMSON is pushing the software experience with the new lineup. The televisions run on Google TV 5.0, offering a personalised content interface that pulls recommendations and streaming content from different apps into a single homepage. The TVs ship with built-in support for Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube, while the Google Play Store gives access to more than 10,000 apps and games. Chromecast built-in and Google Assistant support are also included, allowing users to cast content wirelessly and control the TV through voice commands.

For users moving from older Android TVs or non-smart televisions, this is likely to be one of the more noticeable upgrades in day-to-day usability.

Design, Features and Everything Else

Interestingly, THOMSON has stayed away from chasing larger panels with this launch and instead focused on 32-inch, 40-inch, and 43-inch variants, which the company says continue to remain among the most in-demand sizes in India. That strategy makes sense for the price segment THOMSON is targeting. In the sub-Rs. 20,000 category, consumers still prioritise affordability, smart features, and streaming performance over ultra-large displays.

The new TVs feature a bezel-less design and come equipped with QLED panels offering 350 nits of brightness. The lineup also includes multiple picture presets such as Cinema, Dynamic, Game, Low Blue, Eco, and PC Mode.

THOMSON has equipped the new series with dual 40W speakers alongside Dolby-ready audio support. The TVs also support AAC, AC3, and EAC3 audio formats. Under the hood, the lineup is powered by an ARM Cortex A55 quad-core processor paired with 1GB RAM and 8GB onboard storage.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, three HDMI ports, and two USB ports. Features such as Miracast, Live Channel support, Fast Boot, Hotel Mode, an optical port, and a headphone jack are also included.

The specifications themselves are clearly aimed at mainstream streaming and entertainment usage rather than premium gaming or high-end home theatre setups, which aligns with the pricing strategy.

According to THOMSON, the company was among the first Indian manufacturing brands to secure a Google licence in India through its brand licensee Super Plastronics Pvt. Ltd. (SPPL). The brand says this partnership has helped it bring continuous software upgrades and smart ecosystem features to its television portfolio.

Commenting on the launch, Avneet Singh Marwah, CEO of SPPL and exclusive licensee of THOMSON in India, said the company continues to see strong demand for compact and mid-sized televisions across residential and commercial categories. He added that the new Google TV 5.0 QLED range is designed to combine advanced display technology, immersive audio, and smart ecosystem features at accessible pricing.

THOMSON Google TV 5.0 QLED TV Price in India

The newly launched TVs are priced as follows:

  • 32-inch model: Rs. 10,999
  • 40-inch model: Rs. 15,999
  • 43-inch model: Rs. 16,999

THOMSON is also offering a 10 percent instant discount on SBI bank cards.

The company additionally confirmed that several THOMSON products will receive discounts during Flipkart's upcoming Sasa Lele sale beginning May 9, with TV prices starting at Rs. 5,599 during the sale period. THOMSON's latest launch feels less like a spec race and more like a calculated push toward practical smart TV buying trends in India. Instead of stretching into aggressive premium positioning, the company is leaning into what still sells heavily in the market: smaller QLED TVs with familiar streaming features, loud audio, and aggressive pricing. For buyers looking at affordable secondary-room or compact living-room televisions, this is clearly the audience THOMSON wants to capture with the new Google TV 5.0 lineup.
