The base model in the lineup – the Qubo Smart Air Purifier Q200, is one of the most affordable air purifiers with best-in-class filtration and AI features. I put the device through the brass tacks to see if it’s indeed the best value-for-money air purifier in India, and here’s my complete review.

Qubo Smart Air Purifier Q200 Review: Design and Build

The Qubo Smart Air Purifier Q200 is unabashedly utilitarian in the design department. It’s an air purifier that looks like one and makes no qualms about it. It’s not trying to look like a decor, which it’s not. If you are looking for a statement piece, take a look at the Smart Air Sqair.

This compact air purifier weighs just 2.4 kg and measures 205 x 205 x 313 mm. Thanks to its small form factor, you can place it in any corner of the room without moving things around. The air purifier is ideal for a small room with a CADR of 88CFM and a coverage area of 200 sq. ft. So, if you are looking for air purifiers for a hall, look for more powerful options.

There’s a squircle-shaped control panel on top with various function buttons and LED indicators around it for air quality indication. There are touch buttons for on/off, timer, fan speeds, auto mode, filter replacement indicator, QSenseAI mode, and more. There’s even a child lock button to prevent toddlers from messing with the settings.

To replace the filter, I had to plug it off and then turn it upside down. There is a twist-lock mechanism at the bottom to remove the filter panel and pull the filter out. You simply have to remove the old filter, slot the new one in, snap the twist-lock panel back in place, and you are done.

Qubo Smart Air Purifier Q200 Review: Filter and Air Quality Testing

Despite being a compact air purifier, the Qubo Smart Air Purifier Q200 features a full-fledged 4-layer air purification system. It comes with a pre-filter, nano silver anti-bacterial filter, activated carbon, and H13 HEPA filter.

Filters

  • Pre-Filter: It removes pet dander, dust mites, pollen, etc. from the air.
  • Silver Nano Particle Coating: It helps remove airborne bacteria and viruses to circulate healthier air in the room.
  • Activated Carbon Filter: The activated carbon filter is a deodorising filter that removes cooking smells, smoke, and odors.
  • True HEPA-13 Filter: This filter removes pollens and PM2.5 particulate matter from the air.

The company claims that the Qubo Smart Air Purifier Q200 can remove up to 99.7% of pollutants from the air with its advanced 4-layer filtration. I ran corner and center placement tests on it to gauge its performance, and here are the results.

Corner Placement Test

I started the corner placement test of the Qubo Smart Air Purifier Q200 with air quality rated at 100 AQI and 398 µg/m³ PM2.5 level. This is pretty extreme for a compact and affordable air purifier, but saying that the Qubo Q200 surprised me is an understatement. Take a look at the figures below.

Time (Minutes) AQI PM2.5 (µg/m³)
Starting Reading 100 398
10 Minute Reading 100 285
20 Minute Reading 83 208
25 Minute Reading 68 170
Ultimate Reading 34 86

Starting at 398 µg/m³ PM 2.5, it reduces levels to 285 in 10 minutes, 170 in 25 minutes, and an ultimate reading of 86 µg/m³—slightly better than Sharp Air Purifier FP-JA30M-B (review) in final results. The AQI drops from 100 to 68 in 25 minutes, with a final value of 34. Its strong performance in reducing pollutants like formaldehyde (HCHO) and volatile organic compounds (TVOCs) further adds to its appeal. The Qubo purifier’s speed and effectiveness make it a compelling option for small rooms, especially for users who prefer a sleek, lightweight design combined with advanced air-cleaning capabilities.

To put things into perspective, the similarly priced Eureka Forbes Air Purifier 150 (review) brought down the AQI from 100 to 45 in 10 minutes and PM2.5 levels from 403 µg/m³ to 113 µg/m³. However, this Qubo offering stands out because of its smart connectivity and AI features, which I will elaborate on later in this review.

Center Placement Test

To accurately gauge the performance of the Qubo Smart Air Purifier Q200 air purifier, I placed it in the center of the room. The numbers were lower than the corner placement test, but I kind of expected them to be. Take a look below.

Time (Minutes) AQI PM2.5 (µg/m³)
Starting Reading 100 396
10 Minute Reading 100 301
20 Minute Reading 95 239
25 Minute Reading 82 205
Ultimate Reading 32 75

From an initial PM 2.5 reading of 396 µg/m³, it reduces pollutants to 301 in 10 minutes and an impressive 205 µg/m³ in 25 minutes. Its final PM 2.5 level of 75 µg/m³ is slightly better than the Sharp model, showcasing its effective filtration capabilities. Additionally, its AQI drops from 100 to 32, the lowest among all tested devices, in just 25 minutes. Maintaining consistent HCHO levels (0.169 mg/m³) and TVOC readings (0.755 mg/m³), Qubo Smart Air Purifier Q200 combines speed and precision, making it a great option for users looking for fast results without compromising quality.

Ease of Changing Filters & Cost

Changing the filter of the Qubo Smart Air Purifier Q200 is pretty straightforward. All I had to do was turn over the appliance, remove the back panel using the twist-lock mechanism, and grab the handlebar on the filter to remove it.

The Qubo Smart Air Purifier filter replacement is available on Amazon.in for Rs 1,490. According to Qubo, the new air purifiers come with a rated filter life of up to 9,000 hours. This means that users will not have to worry about replacing the filter for at least a year, depending on the pollution levels in their area.

Qubo Smart Air Purifier Q200 Review: Noise Levels

The Qubo Smart Air Purifier is a silent device. Its peak sound level is 55dB, and the minimum sound level is 35.5dB at a 1-foot distance, depending on the fan speed. This is equivalent to a refrigerator humming. It is also comparable to the other air purifiers in this price segment. The purifier also has a Sleep mode, which ensures undisturbed sleep at night.

Qubo Smart Air Purifier Q200 Review: IoT Integration and Features

There are several features that enhance the overall working of the appliance:

Key Features:

  • QSeneAI: This mode is designed to detect the PM2.5 level in the ambient air using the built-in sensor and provide an insightful air quality report. This was particularly helpful for me as I could check the time and date-wise pattern of air quality change to run the purifier accordingly.
  • Auto mode: One of the most useful features is to sense the PM2.5 levels in the air and adjust the fan speed and modes accordingly. This improves power efficiency and removes the hassle of messing with the setting every time.
  • Filter replacement indicator: While the brand claims that the filter is rated to last 9,000 hours of run time, it might change depending on the air quality at your location. Having a filter replacement indicator takes the guesswork out of it and tells you exactly when the filter needs to be replaced.
  • Schedule management: In winter, early mornings and evenings are when the pollution worsens. With Qubo Smart Air Purifier Q200, you can set it automatically when the device turns on and off to save you the hassle.
  • Timer: This air purifier also comes with a timer for one, two, four, and eight hours, after which it will turn off automatically.
  • Child Lock: This is a must-have feature if you have a toddler at home who might mess with the settings and hamper the performance.

The Smart, in its name, stands for the ability to connect to the Qubo Smart Air Purifier Q200 companion app. The pairing process is straightforward and allows you to monitor critical data like air quality reports, total run time, and more. It also supports Google Assistant and Alexa, so you can operate it with your voice if required.

Qubo Smart Air Purifier Q200 Review: Verdict

There are not many budget air purifiers in India that offer smart IoT features, AI-backed analysis, great performance, and pocket-friendly filter replacements. If you are looking for a smart air purifier for your office cubicle or a small room like a study that you can control remotely, then the Qubo Smart Air Purifier Q200 is the best pick.
