Narwal has expanded its India portfolio with the launch of the new S Series wet-and-dry vacuum cleaners. The company today announced three new models: the S20, S20 Pro, and S30. Priced at Rs. 34,990, Rs. 44,990, and Rs. 54,990 respectively, the lineup focuses on a problem most vacuum cleaner brands rarely talk about maintenance.
While suction power remains important, Narwal is positioning the S Series around reducing the effort required after cleaning, with hot-water self-cleaning systems, anti-tangle brush technology, and ergonomic engineering designed to make floor care less time-consuming.
A Premium Wet-and-Dry Vacuum Built Around Convenience
The S Series delivers up to 20,000Pa suction power and combines vacuuming with wet floor cleaning in a single device. However, the bigger story is Narwal's focus on ownership experience rather than raw specifications.
The S20 and S20 Pro feature hot-water self-cleaning systems operating at around 104°F, while the flagship S30 raises that to 176°F for deeper brush cleaning and maintenance. The goal is to reduce dirt buildup, odours, and manual cleaning of the roller brush after every session.
Hair tangles are another common frustration for vacuum owners, particularly in homes with pets or long-haired family members. To address this, Narwal has integrated Dual-Layer Comb Technology and a bi-directional brush cleaning system designed to minimise tangles and maintain consistent performance over time. Both these sound like practical upgrades and we will be looking at testing these out when we get these for review.
S30 Leads the Lineup With AI-Powered Cleaning Features
At the top of the range sits the Narwal S30, which adds AI-powered cleaning optimisation, a dedicated Wood Floor Mode, and a disposable waste separation bag aimed at improving hygiene and simplifying disposal. The company positions it as the most advanced floor-care solution in its portfolio.
The S20 Pro sits in the middle of the lineup, while the standard S20 brings the core S Series technologies to a more accessible price point. Both models feature five intelligent cleaning modes designed to adapt to different floor-care requirements.
Ergonomics Are Becoming the Next Battleground
One of the more interesting aspects of the launch is Narwal's emphasis on ergonomics. The company claims its Perfect Three-Point Balance architecture optimises weight distribution and can reduce cleaning effort by up to 42 percent compared to conventional wet-and-dry vacuum cleaners.
The vacuums can also lie completely flat at 180 degrees and feature a 63-degree turning angle, making it easier to clean under beds, sofas, and low furniture where traditional upright cleaners often struggle. Runtime is rated at up to 60 minutes on a single charge.
Narwal vs Competition
India's premium floor-cleaning market is becoming increasingly competitive. Robot vacuum brands such as Dreame, Ecovacs, and Milagrow have spent the last two years convincing consumers to automate cleaning entirely. Narwal is taking a slightly different approach.
Instead of replacing user involvement, the S Series focuses on making manual cleaning faster, lighter, and easier to maintain. For households that prefer the control of a traditional vacuum but dislike the upkeep that comes with it, that positioning could resonate.
The company is also betting on wider retail availability. Alongside online sales through Amazon, Flipkart, and Narwal's official website, the S Series will arrive at Reliance Digital, Croma, and Vijay Sales stores from July onwards.
With pricing starting at Rs. 34,990, the S Series enters the market as a premium alternative for consumers looking beyond conventional mops and basic vacuum cleaners, while stopping short of the fully automated robot vacuum experience. Whether the hot-water self-cleaning system and maintenance-focused design justify the premium will ultimately depend on real-world performance, but Narwal is clearly targeting convenience as its biggest differentiator. We will have to wait and watch to see if this differentiation helps them in gaining more ground.
