The Nokia 8.2 is an upcoming upper midrange smartphone from HMD Global which will be the successor to last year’s Nokia 8.1. From what we know so far, the phone will offer an HDR10 LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution that will measure around 6-inches. This phone is expected to feature a pop-up selfie camera with a 32MP resolution sensor. Meanwhile, the rear will house a 64MP primary sensor paired with at least one other camera. Powering the handset will be either a Snapdragon 712 or a Snapdragon 730 SoC. This should be paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage on the base variant. It is also being said that the phone will run on Android Q out-of-the-box. While the exact battery capacity is not known, it is likely the phone will support fast charging over a USB Type-C port.

Nokia 8.2 To Feature 32MP Pop-Up Selfie Camera

We recently obtained exclusive inside information that Nokia 8.2 could be Nokia’s first device with a pop-up camera. The HMD Global-backed brand already has a hole-punch design in the mould of the Nokia X71 which has not been released in international waters yet. Pop-up cameras have been in vogue this year with almost all Chinese manufacturers using the mechanical module in their smartphones. Nokia has not used one to date.

Besides that, the source also stated that the front camera would be a 32MP sensor which has been seen on the likes of Vivo and OPPO phones recently. Furthermore, the device will be loaded with Android Q and be equipped with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. Now, there’s no information on the possible release date of this device, but considering it will run Android Q, it should be after Google kicks off the stable phase of Android 10.0 sometime in August.

Snapdragon 700-series Processor To Be At The Heart Of Nokia 8.2

Based on previous reports, it is known that Nokia has two 5G devices in the works tipped to Launch in Q3 2019. While one of them is a flagship, the other is expected to be a premium mid-ranger which fits the bill of the Nokia 8.2. Leaks suggest the handset will be powered by a Snapdragon 700 series SoC or the unreleased Snapdragon 735. The Nokia 8.1 has a premium build quality and a notched screen; hence, a pop-up camera full-screen would be a big upgrade. This year, Nokia has been particularly low-key in the Indian market with only a few launches such as the Nokia 9 PureView, the Nokia 2.2, and the Nokia 3.2. The latter two are entry-level handsets, and we have yet to see some capable mid-rangers from the company.

  1. Hi Abdul
I have been looking 8.1 specs all over net until my head is spinning. Why ?
I am an old photographer and HIFI lover and now I want to make better use of mobile phone.
BUT ! All info in net is either false or speculation of missing. And not only on Nokia phones.
IE. 1 : Video in 8.1 ! OK, you may use it BUT what is you get. HD ? 4K ? speed 24 or 30 ? Even Nokia 8.1 manula does not say anything.
IE. 2 : Bluetooth !!! Which version ? I want aptx and aptX HD. No info of that on net. Even says something oracle-like = not useful.
    Abdul, please
I will be forever grateful if you keep these things in mind and keep us readers happy inluding that kind of info in your texts. It only needs app. 30 chars !
    Greetings from Finland, Riamo
