Vi Introduces Flexible International Roaming Packs Ahead of Summer Travel Rush

Vodafone Idea has expanded its postpaid international roaming portfolio with a new range of flexible validity plans aimed at travellers heading abroad this summer. The company has introduced new 7-day, 14-day, and 21-day roaming packs as part of a broader push to offer more tailored roaming options for different travel durations.

The telecom operator says the move is designed to cater to a growing mix of international travellers, including business users, students, medical tourists, and leisure travellers, who increasingly prefer roaming plans that align more closely with trip duration instead of relying on longer bundled packs.

Vi Is Expanding Its Focus on Flexible Global Connectivity

With the latest additions, Vi's international roaming portfolio now includes 17 different postpaid IR packs spanning validity options from one day up to 30 days. The company is also continuing to position its "truly unlimited" roaming proposition as a key differentiator across select destinations.

The newly launched plans include both unlimited and limited data variants. Vi says its unlimited voice and data benefits are available across more than 40 countries, while separate limited-benefit packs cover over 120 countries. Pricing for the new packs starts at Rs 2,649 for a 7-day plan and goes up to Rs 5,699 for a 21-day unlimited plan.

The timing of the launch also reflects how international roaming has become a bigger battleground for telecom operators, especially among premium postpaid users who travel frequently and increasingly expect app-based activation, transparent billing, and bundled international connectivity instead of relying on local SIM cards abroad.

Commenting on the launch, Avneesh Khosla, Chief Marketing Officer at Vi, said the company is aiming to simplify global connectivity by offering plans that better match different travel needs and durations.
