Display, Design, Security
The G40 from Moto boasts a 6.5-inch HD+ display with 720x1600 pixels. The screen offers pixel density of 270PPI and has a water drop notch that houses the front camera. This allows the overall 20:9 aspect ratio display to offer more viewing area. The power button and the volume rocker are on the right side of the phone. To secure the device, you can rely on the built-in rear-mounted fingerprint sensor or the face unlock feature.
Performance, Storage, Triple Camera
Moto G40 uses the octa-core Snapdragon 480 processor for basic performance and also brings 5G support to the budget segment. It comes paired with 4GB RAM and offers 64GB onboard storage that is further expandable using the dedicated microSD card slot. The phone runs on the latest Android 11 operating system in its stock version, along with few Moto-bundled features. The imaging duties on the phone are handled by triple rear cameras that consist of 13MP primary sensor, 2MP sensor and 2MP depth sensor. The front of the phone gets an 8MP camera that lets you click selfies, shoot videos and take video calls.
Battery, Charging, Connectivity
Moto has focused on offering long backup with the G40. And that’s why the phone packs a 5000mAh battery. This unit supports charging via USB Type C port that also can be used for data transfer. Connectivity features available with the device are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, 5G, VoLTE, USB OTG, and GPS with GLONASS.
