Powering the Nokia 8.1 Plus is the Snapdragon 710 chipset integrated and optimized with the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI). It is best suited for mid-range phones as it incorporates Qualcomm Spectra ISP and multi-core Qualcomm Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engine, together they bring premium camera features along with dominant overall performance. The SD710 is further paired with Adreno 616 GPU for enhanced gaming experience and 6GB of RAM. Storage front is fulfilled by 128GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable up to 400GB via microSD card.

The Nokia 8.1 Plus packs a 16MP+20MP dual camera setup on the rear with LED flash. It supports Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF), HDR mode, and more. There is a 20MP front camera with AI-assisted features such as Portrait mode, and more. On the software side of things, the Nokia 8.1 Plus ships with Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box. Right from the beginning, HMD Global stuck with stock Android that offers pure Android experience without any additional custom UI layered on top. The Nokia 8.1 Plus is a part of Google's Android One program that will fetch it faster software updates.
