The major USP of the device is the transparent back panel. The brand claims that the transparent rear panel is made with over 400 components. The front panel comes with a punch-hole design that houses a selfie camera. The phone also comes with a Glyph interface that uses 900 LEDs to form unique lighting patterns on the back panel. The Nothing Phone 1 256GB model equips a 6.55-inch Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. The phone comes with an AMOLED display panel that supports HDR10+.  It also features a 120Hz screen refresh, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The Nothing Phone 1 packs an in-display fingerprint sensor and face unlock feature. 

In terms of performance, the Nothing Phone 1 256GB model gets its power from an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus processor. The chipset also offers Adreno 642L GPU to handle the graphics. The model is loaded with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The phone packs dual rear cameras with a combination of a 50MP primary sensor with Sony IMX766 and OIS support and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens that also doubles as a 4cm macro shooter. The phone also comes equipped with a 16MP shooter for selfies and video calling. The Nothing Phone 1 runs on the latest Android 12 operating system and comes with a newly-introduced Nothing OS. 

The Nothing Phone 1 packs a 4,500mAh battery and offers 33W PD3.0 wired fast charging support. Moreover, it also supports 15W wireless charging and 5W reverse wireless charging support. In terms of connectivity, the phone supports 5G, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS with GLONASS, dual-SIM and a USB Type-C port.
