Motorola has launched the Moto Buds 2 Plus in India, expanding its audio lineup with a new pair of true wireless (TWS) earbuds aimed at delivering premium features at a more accessible price. The earbuds were first showcased at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Barcelona and now officially enter one of the most competitive segments in the market.
The TWS category has evolved rapidly, with features like active noise cancellation (ANC), high-resolution audio support, and multi-device connectivity becoming common even in mid-range offerings. With the Moto Buds 2 Plus, Motorola is attempting to bring many of these features into the sub-Rs 6,000 price segment.
Price and availability in India
The Moto Buds 2 Plus is priced at Rs 5,999. It will go on sale starting May 8 at 12 PM IST via Flipkart. The earbuds are available in two colour options: Pantone Silhouette and Pantone Cool White, continuing Motorola's partnership with Pantone for design aesthetics.
Features and specifications
Despite its budget positioning, the Moto Buds 2 Plus stands out with "Sound by Bose" tuning. This means the audio profile has been tuned by Bose, a brand known for its audio expertise. The Bose branding is also visible on the charging case, highlighting this collaboration.
In terms of hardware, the earbuds feature a dual-driver setup, combining an 11mm dynamic driver with a 6mm unit and Knowles balanced armatures. This multi-driver configuration is designed to deliver a more detailed and balanced sound output compared to typical single-driver earbuds in this price range.
The Moto Buds 2 Plus also support Hi-Res Audio through the LHDC codec, along with Spatial Audio for a more immersive listening experience. For noise control, the earbuds offer up to 55dB adaptive ANC, which is competitive within this segment. Users also get multiple transparency modes, allowing them to stay aware of their surroundings when needed.
Call quality is handled by a six-microphone setup, supported by Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) and AI-powered voice processing through CrystalTalk AI. This setup aims to improve voice clarity during calls, even in noisy environments.
Connectivity features include Bluetooth 6.0 and dual device pairing, enabling seamless switching between two connected devices. Additional features such as Gaming Mode for reduced latency, Wear Detection, Audio Share, and customizable touch controls are available through the Moto Buds app.
On compatible Motorola devices, users can also access Moto AI features, including real-time translation and contextual tools like "Catch Me Up" and "Pay Attention," adding an extra layer of functionality within the ecosystem.
Motorola claims up to 8 hours of playback on a single charge, with total battery life extending to 40 hours when used with the charging case. Fast charging support is also included, with a 10-minute charge providing up to 2 hours of playback.
The earbuds come with an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, making them suitable for workouts and daily use.
Should you consider them?
The Moto Buds 2 Plus offer a strong feature set for their price, especially with Bose tuning, ANC, and Hi-Res audio support. They are particularly appealing for users looking for a balanced mix of sound quality, features, and ecosystem integration.
However, buyers may still want to compare alternatives in this segment, especially if they prioritise brand familiarity in audio tuning or are looking for more budget-friendly options.
