Samsung India Launches Portable Sound Tower Speakers Featuring Customizable Lighting, and Extended Playtime

Samsung is finally bringing its “Sound Tower” party speakers to India, introducing the ST50F and ST40F to a market that is clearly moving away from boring, stationary hi-fi systems. We want our speakers to go where the party is – whether that’s a living room or a rooftop terrace – and these two seem built exactly for that shift.

The bigger sibling, the ST50F, is basically a portable nightclub. It pushes out 240 watts through a setup of dual woofers and tweeters, which is more than enough to annoy the neighbours during an outdoor bash.

The ST40F is the lighter option at 160 watts; it's less aggressive but still packs a serious punch for indoor gatherings without taking up half the room. Both come with adjustable sound modes, so you aren’t stuck with just one audio profile.

This is where the design gets smart. The ST50F actually has wheels and a telescopic handle – think of it like a carry-on suitcase for your music. If you have ever tried dragging a massive speaker up to a terrace, you know how valuable that is. The smaller ST40F is light enough to grab with one hand. Plus, they are both IPX4 water-resistant, so a sudden rain shower or a splash by the pool won’t kill the vibe.

Samsung isn’t skimping on battery life here. You get up to 18 hours on the big guy and 12 hours on the smaller one. That puts them right in the ring with heavyweights like JBL's PartyBox series. And since no modern party speaker is complete without a light show, they come with the “Party Lights+” system. The LEDs react to the music in real-time, and you can tweak everything – lights, EQ, pairing – straight from your phone app.

Should you buy it?

With prices starting around ₹25,500, Samsung isn’t positioning these as budget buys; they are premium lifestyle gear. But considering they cost significantly more in the US, the Indian pricing is actually pretty aggressive.

If you are the type who hosts big, loud outdoor events, the wheeled ST50F is the no-brainer. But if your parties are mostly indoors and you want something easier to stash away, the ST40F is likely all you need. Either way, it's good to see Samsung taking portable audio seriously again.
