Dell Pro Max Arrives in India with Nvidia GB10 Superchip: Supports 1 PFLOPS of AI Performance

Dell has launched its most advanced pre-built computer in India, featuring the Nvidia GB10 chipset. It’s a custom chip which integrates the Blackwell GPU with a MediaTek CPU, capable of processing AI models of up to 200 billion parameters. Dell says that its new Dell Pro Max system is designed for researchers and enthusiasts in the AI field who require maximum machine learning capabilities, which typically max out at 45 billion parameters on a high-end system.

Dell Pro Max with Nvidia GB10: What’s Different?

The latest Dell Pro Max is the most powerful computer from the company in India, capable of delivering performance equivalent to systems used in a data centre. It is powered by the Nvidia GB10 Superchip, which includes Nvidia’s Blackwell GPU with 96GB VRAM and an ARM-based CPU from MediaTek. This combination is paired with 128GB of unified memory (RAM).

The system runs on Nvidia’s DGX OS designed and optimised for large language models, machine learning, and other related tasks. With these specifications, the Dell Pro Max is among the most powerful and compact machines which you can own, capable of running and executing all major LLMs.

Charlie Walker, Head of Product at Dell, mentions that the company has received lot of requests from customers who demand more power from their system. A top-level computer can handle AI models of up to 45 billion parameters, which was previously sufficient. But with the rapid progress in technology, the needs of power users kept increasing.

The new Dell Pro Max addresses to fill this void with its powerful AI capabilities. Since the custom OS is designed to run AI tasks locally, this further helps to improve the performance one can extract from the system. DGX OS is based on Ubuntu, which also brings support and compatibility for a wide variety of programs.

Nvidia GB10 Computers in India

The Nvidia GB10-based computer is still a niche product and not truly consumer-grade. Not everyone requires the powerhouse of the Blackwell GPU, but for those who do, the GB10 chip is an excellent compact solution which brings industry-leading AI performance directly to your desk.

The Dell Pro Max is priced at Rs 3,99,000 in India. It is available for purchase on Dell India’s website and through enterprise distributors.

Apart from the Dell Pro Max, there are very limited options for a GB10 computer in India, as Nvidia does not officially sell its DGX Spark here. Other alternatives include the ASUS Ascent GX10, which features the same specifications as the Dell Pro Max, at a starting price of Rs 4,00,000.

Should You Buy It?

If you are someone who builds custom LLMs, or works in the field of machine learning, then the Dell Pro Max is the most powerful standalone computer that you can get. With its ability to process 1 petaflops of PF4 AI performance with up to 200 billion parameters, it can not only handle modern LLMs, but also leave enough bandwidth for upcoming models with higher parameters.

Content creators are also adapting the use of AI by using software to generate AI avatars, something which AevyTV is doing in India. If you are planning to do something similar, then you can benefit from the Dell Pro Max, provided that you use software compatible with Nvidia’s ecosystem.
