Instagram has introduced new Story creation tools for Ray-Ban Meta, Oakley Meta, and the newly launched Meta Glasses, bringing interactive story formats and built-in editing features for hands-free content creators. The update adds Spin View, Multi-Cam, and new editing tools designed specifically for footage captured using Meta AI Glasses.
New Features Aim to Make POV Content More Engaging
The headline addition is Spin View, an interactive story format that lets viewers rotate their phone to explore the creator's full point of view instead of watching a fixed frame. Instagram has also introduced Multi-Cam, which automatically syncs footage captured from Meta AI Glasses and a smartphone, allowing creators to show two perspectives simultaneously. This could be useful for creators filming tutorials, cooking videos, DIY projects, or behind-the-scenes content.
The update also brings native editing tools for glasses footage, including Expand to reframe wide-angle videos, Audio to reduce background noise and improve voice clarity, and Speed controls for slowing down or speeding up clips. These tools can be accessed directly while editing Instagram Stories by selecting media captured using compatible Meta AI Glasses.
Meta Expands the AI Glasses Ecosystem
These features further position Meta's AI glasses as content creation devices rather than just wearable gadgets. Meta is encouraging creators to use its smart glasses for capturing first-person content without relying entirely on smartphones.
The hardware is only half the story for AI glasses, and Meta seems to understand that. Features like Spin View and Multi-Cam give creators something they can't easily replicate with a smartphone alone. If more exclusive tools like these continue to arrive, Meta's AI glasses could become a far more compelling option for content creators than just another wearable accessory.
