Boat Enters Kids Tech Segment With Sailor Nav 4G Smartwatch at Rs. 6,499

Boat has expanded beyond its audio and wearable portfolio by entering the kids' technology segment with the launch of its Kid Series, led by the Sailor Nav 4G Smartwatch. Alongside the smartwatch, Boat has also introduced the Sailor Play wireless headphones for children, signalling the company's push into family-focused connected devices.

Sailor Nav 4G Specifications And Features

Unlike conventional kids' smartwatches that primarily focus on activity tracking, the Sailor Nav has been built around safety and communication. It features real-time Google Maps location tracking, allowing parents to monitor their child's live location throughout the day, whether they are travelling to school, playing outdoors, or returning home. The watch also supports advanced geo-fencing with five-point satellite positioning, enabling parents to create virtual safe zones and receive instant notifications whenever a child enters or exits those predefined areas.

The Sailor Nav includes a built-in 4G SIM that enables two-way video and voice calling, allowing children to communicate directly from the watch without carrying a separate smartphone. It features a 1.4-inch HD display that makes video calls, messages and navigation prompts easier to view, while the rugged construction is designed to withstand everyday school routines and outdoor activities. Boat has also added Audio Chat, allowing children to exchange quick voice messages with other Sailor Nav users, making communication more interactive while keeping it simple.

For emergencies, the smartwatch includes a dedicated SOS feature that allows children to quickly alert parents whenever they require immediate assistance. Combined with continuous location tracking and communication features, the smartwatch aims to give parents greater confidence as children become more independent during everyday activities. Long battery life and an efficient processor further ensure the watch remains functional throughout the day without frequent charging interruptions.

The launch marks an important shift in Boat's product strategy. Having established itself as one of India's largest audio and wearable brands, the company is now targeting family-oriented technology products. According to Gaurav Nayyar, CEO of Boat, today's parents are increasingly looking for devices that balance children's independence with safety and meaningful connectivity. The Kid Series reflects this growing demand for purpose-built technology instead of simply adapting products originally designed for adults.

The timing is significant as the Indian kids' wearable market continues to grow alongside increasing digital adoption among younger users. Parents are now looking beyond smartphones and are instead considering dedicated connected devices that provide communication without exposing children to unrestricted internet access or social media distractions.

Alongside the smartwatch, Boat has introduced the Sailor Play wireless headphones priced at Rs. 1,499. The headphones feature an 85dB volume limit to protect children's hearing, 40mm dynamic drivers, soft ear cushions, Bluetooth connectivity, a built-in microphone, and up to 60 hours of battery life. They are designed for online learning, entertainment, and everyday use while prioritising safe listening levels.

Price and Availability

The Boat Sailor Nav 4G Smartwatch is priced at Rs. 6,499 and will be available in Fairy Pink and Sky Blue, while the Sailor Play wireless headphones cost Rs. 1,499 and come in Bubblegum Pink, Shark Blue, and Coral Blue. Both products will be available through Boat's official online channels and leading e-commerce platforms.

With the Sailor Nav, Boat is entering a category that is still relatively underserved in India. Instead of competing with mainstream smartwatches, it is focusing on connected safety devices that offer real-time tracking, communication, and emergency assistance for children. For parents looking for an alternative to giving their child a smartphone, features like Google Maps tracking, 4G calling, geo-fencing, and SOS alerts make the Sailor Nav a practical option. Its success, however, will depend on the reliability of its location tracking, call quality, and battery performance in day-to-day usage, areas that are critical for any child-focused wearable.
