Qubo Smart Air Purifier Q600 Review: A Breath of Fresh Air for Modern Homes

The Qubo Smart Air Purifier Q600 has recently entered the market, promising to enhance indoor air quality in spacious environments. Launched in November 2024 at a competitive price of Rs 24,990, this device is designed to cater to the growing demand for effective air purification in larger homes. With advanced technology and a robust filtration system, the Q600 aims to provide a cleaner living space while integrating seamlessly into modern smart homes. However, the question that arises is whether the Q600 Air Purifier justifies its price tag of Rs almost Rs 25,000. Well, we have been using it for a while now and have done some testing as well. So, let’s find out in our review.

Build Quality and Design

The Q600 features a compact and modern design with an all-plastic build that weighs 5.2 kg. Its sleek white body with touch-based controls on the top makes it visually appealing and easy to operate. An LCD panel provides real-time air quality feedback, though the absence of a remote might be a drawback for some. Despite being lightweight, the plastic construction feels sturdy enough for everyday use.

Filters and Air Purification Performance

The Qubo Smart Air Purifier Q600 impressed us with its multi-stage filtration system, including HEPA and activated carbon filters. It claims a coverage area of up to 600 sq ft and a CADR of 450 CFM. To test its real-world performance, we conducted corner and centre placement tests in our lab.

Corner Test

Placing the Qubo Q600 in a corner, we measured air quality starting at an AQI of 100 and PM2.5 levels at 404 µg/m³—indicative of poor air quality. After 10 minutes, the purifier brought PM2.5 levels down to 167 µg/m³ and AQI to 66. At the 20-minute mark, PM2.5 levels were reduced to 65 µg/m³, with AQI further dropping to 29. After 25 minutes, PM2.5 levels reached a healthy 40 µg/m³, stabilising AQI at 30.

In comparison, the Honeywell Airtouch U2 (Review), priced similarly to the Qubo Q600, showed slightly faster results during its corner test. It reduced PM2.5 levels from 413 µg/m³ to 24 µg/m³ and AQI to 27 within 25 minutes. While the Airtouch U2 edges out the Qubo Q600 in speed, the Qubo still delivered commendable results, making it a solid performer for corner placements.

Centre Test

When positioned at the centre, the Qubo Q600 started with similar air quality readings—AQI of 100 and PM2.5 at 401 µg/m³. After 10 minutes, PM2.5 levels dropped to 165 µg/m³, and AQI reached 66. By 20 minutes, PM2.5 levels were at 59 µg/m³, and AQI dropped to 31. At 25 minutes, PM2.5 was reduced further to 35 µg/m³, with AQI stabilising at 31.

Compared to the Honeywell Airtouch U2, which reduced PM2.5 to 23 µg/m³ and AQI to 29 within 25 minutes in its centre test, the Qubo Q600 performed slightly slower. However, the difference is marginal, and both purifiers showed comparable results, ensuring you don’t lose much performance whether the unit is placed in a corner or at the centre.

However, in both tests the purifier consistently brought down PM2.5 levels from hazardous to healthy ranges in under half an hour, which is a big thumbs up.

Ease of Changing Filters and Cost

The filters are easy to access and replace, with clear instructions provided in the user manual. According to the company, the filters are designed for longevity, with a lifespan of approximately 15,000 hours before needing replacement. Filter costs remain reasonable, ensuring that maintaining optimal air quality does not become a financial burden.

Availability through various online platforms makes it convenient for users to procure replacements when necessary. This means getting a filter and changing it will not be an issue.

Noise Levels

Operating quietly is essential for any air purifier, especially in bedrooms or study areas. The Q600 performs admirably in this regard:

  • Peak sound level: Recorded at 61.8 dB from one foot away
  • Minimum sound level: As low as 38.6 dB

These levels indicate that while it can ramp up during heavy filtration periods, it remains relatively quiet during standard operation.

Smart Features and IoT Integration

It’s 2024, and every device that we buy has to be a smart device, and the Q600 doesn’t lag behind in this race in terms of integrating smart features. It is equipped with advanced features that enhance user experience. Here is everything you need to know about it:

  • QSensAI Technology: As the name suggests, this proprietary feature from Qubo intelligently adjusts fan speed and filtration intensity based on real-time air quality readings.
  • Smart Connectivity: Users can control the device through the Qubo app or via voice commands using Alexa and Google Assistant.
  • Real-time Monitoring: The app provides insights into both indoor and outdoor air quality indices sourced from the Central Pollution Control Board.

Final Verdict

After thoroughly testing the Qubo Smart Air Purifier Q600, I believe it is a robust choice for medium—to large-sized spaces that require clean air. Its modern design, touch-based controls, and lightweight plastic build make it both practical and aesthetically pleasing. The LCD panel provides clear, real-time air quality updates, though the absence of a remote might deter some users.

The purifier’s HEPA and activated carbon filters performed exceptionally in our tests, consistently reducing PM2.5 and AQI levels to healthy ranges in under 25 minutes, even in larger rooms. Whether placed in a corner or at the centre, the air purifier delivered comparable results, demonstrating its versatility.

Changing filters is straightforward, though detailed information on replacement costs and availability could be more accessible. Noise levels are well-controlled, with a whisper-quiet operation on lower settings and moderate noise at higher speeds, suitable for most home environments.

The inclusion of smart features like app-based controls and real-time monitoring adds convenience, making the Qubo Q600 a future-ready appliance. While it lacks air swing modes or temperature and humidity sensors, its overall performance justifies its Rs 24,990 price tag.

If you’re looking for a powerful, feature-rich air purifier that delivers on performance and integrates seamlessly with smart home ecosystems, the Qubo Smart Air Purifier Q600 is a solid contender.
