Bosch Broadens India Retail Reach as Brand Stores Become Central to Its Appliance Strategy

Bosch Home Appliances has opened 30 new brand stores across India in a single day, taking its exclusive store network from 104 to 134 locations. The stores span 21 cities and mark Bosch’s largest single-day retail expansion in the country so far.

The rollout comes at a time when appliance brands are putting greater emphasis on offline experience centres, particularly for products such as large refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers and built-in appliances that buyers often want to see and understand before spending. For Bosch, the expansion also follows strong momentum at its existing exclusive stores, which the company says recorded 60% year-to-date sales growth between January and July 2026.

Bosch Expands to 134 Exclusive Brand Stores Across India

The 30 new stores have opened across major markets including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Madurai and Varanasi. Bosch is also expanding into regional centres such as Dindigul, Karimnagar, Jamshedpur, Kurnool, Thrissur, Trivandrum, Tirupur and Dehradun.

Appliance growth is no longer centred only around India’s largest metros, and brands are increasingly looking at Tier 2 and regional markets for buyers moving towards larger-capacity and more feature-rich products. Bosch’s latest expansion gives it a stronger physical presence in both kinds of markets instead of relying only on multi-brand retail or online sales.

These stores are also meant to work differently from a conventional appliance showroom. Bosch says customers will be able to see live demonstrations, receive personalised consultations and explore products as part of its broader Bosch Home ecosystem.

Bosch Is Expanding the Appliances It Wants to Sell in India Too

The retail expansion coincides with a broader product push from Bosch in 2026. Its India portfolio now stretches from four-door refrigerators and 9kg to 12kg washing machines to dishwashers, built-in appliances, steam ovens, coffee machines, air fryers and food-preparation products.

That breadth makes exclusive stores more useful to the company than simply adding another point of sale. A washing machine or refrigerator can still be compared relatively easily on capacity and specifications, but built-in ovens, dishwashers and connected kitchen appliances often require more explanation around installation, dimensions and how they fit into a larger kitchen setup.

Bosch is consequently positioning its stores as places where buyers can interact with the technology before making a decision rather than simply seeing rows of boxed appliances.

Saif Khan, Managing Director and CEO, BSH Home Appliances India, said consumers increasingly want to explore technologies and understand their real-life benefits before buying. He added that the company sees India as one of its important growth markets globally and is investing in a retail network that combines physical expansion with a stronger consumer experience.

Offline Stores Remain Important Even as Appliance Buying Goes Omnichannel

Bosch’s strategy is not limited to exclusive outlets. The company says its products are currently available through more than 10,000 retail touchpoints in India, covering traditional retail, modern trade, e-commerce, quick commerce and its own brand stores.

That combination is becoming increasingly relevant for the appliance business. Consumers may research and compare products online, but a Rs 70,000 washing machine, a large refrigerator or a built-in kitchen setup is still the kind of purchase where seeing the product and speaking to someone before buying can matter.

Opening 30 stores together therefore says more about Bosch’s India plans than the store count alone. As its portfolio stretches from mainstream large appliances into more specialised kitchen and built-in products, the company is also building the physical retail network needed to explain and sell those categories.
