Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Price Tipped, Will Compete Directly With Beats Studio Buds

The Samsung Galaxy Buds2 is reportedly going to cost around Rs 13,000, and offer no active noise cancellation, but passive eartips.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds2 is seemingly set to be launched soon, and reports have suggested that it may be introduced some time in August, at an event where the Galaxy Watch 4 may also be introduced. Now, ahead of this purported launch, the price of the Samsung Galaxy Buds2 has been tipped. A 91mobiles report, citing an “industry insider”, has claimed that the Galaxy Buds2 will be priced anywhere between $149 to $169 – a price tag that roughly equates to around Rs 11,000 to Rs 13,000 in India. Internationally, this pegs the Galaxy Buds2 in line with the recently introduced Beats Studio Buds, which comes in at about the same price point.

However, there will be key differences between the Samsung Galaxy Buds2 and the Beats Studio Buds, nevertheless. According to reports, the Galaxy Buds2 will not come with active noise cancellation, a feature that is becoming increasingly common even in budget IEMs. At a price of around Rs 13,000, it may be surprising for some to find a pair of premium sounding earbuds which give the active noise cancellation feature a total miss. This will automatically give the Beats Studio Buds an edge over the Galaxy Buds2 in international markets, where both are officially available.

However, in India, the Galaxy Buds2 will have to compete with other offerings. At the moment, true wireless earbuds start at as low as Rs 2,500 featuring active noise cancellation. This would make the feature a rather stark miss in Samsung’s upcoming TWS earbuds. The Samsung Galaxy Buds2 will also seemingly feature a design similar to the Galaxy Buds Pro, 91mobiles claims, stating further that the new generation Buds2 will also come with a 60mAh battery in each earbud, and a 500mAh charging case battery.

The Galaxy Buds2 will also seemingly come with two mics on each earbud, and feature wear detection sensor to give some sort of an automatic play/pause feature as well. More details, such as the make of the driver and other audio specifications, remain under wraps as of now.
