Honor 9X Pro Offers Pop-Up Selfie Camera, Triple Rear Shooters
The Honor 9X Pro is pretty much the same phone as the regular Honor 9X apart from the additional third rear camera, more RAM capacity, and a slightly different paint job. Just like its affordable sibling, the Honor 9X Pro features a pop-up selfie camera that allows the display to remain unobstructed and stretch out to all corners. With these highly slim bezels, enjoy an immersive viewing experience on the 9X Pro’s 6.59-inch LCD screen that offers a Full HD+ resolution and a 19,5:9 aspect ratio.
The exterior of the phone has also been exquisitely designed with X-shaped patterns that appear on the rear panel. These patterns also shift colors based on how light falls on the back of the handset. You will also notice that the back of the phone is relatively clean bar the vertically staked triple rear camera setup on the top left. This is because the fingerprint scanner has been moved to the right side of the device where it also functions as the power button.
Coming to imaging, the Honor 9X proves to be quite versatile with its three rear sensors. The first of these is a 48MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture that can take detailed shots in both daylight and lowlight scenarios. The second camera here is an 8MP ultrawide lens that can help fit more within the frame. The final sensor measures 2MP and helps with capturing depth information for bokeh shots.
Kirin 810 Is The Honor 9X Pro’s Brain
One of the standout features of the Honor 9X Pro is its use of the new HiSilicon Kirin 810 chipset which is a significant generational upgrade over the Kirin 710. Honor claims this processor is just as good as Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730. To ensure the Honor 9X Pro can take full advantage of the Kirin 810, Honor has used liquid cooling tech inside the phone’s chassis to keep the processor’s temperature under control. Furthermore, the Honor 9X Pro comes with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM on both its 128GB storage and 256GB storage model to allow for optimum multitasking. On both variants, the phone is using UFS2.1 storage modules for fast read and write speeds.
On the software front, the Honor 9X will run EMUI 9.1.1, which is based on 9 Pie flavor of Android. The benefit of this is that the phone ships with GPU Turbo 3.0 that has been fine-tuned to allow optimum gaming performance. Not only will the Kirin 810’s GPU be able to reach its full potential, software features such as blocking notifications, disabling navigation buttons and do not disturb mode further contribute towards a distraction-free gaming experience.
4000mAh Battery Powers the Honor 9X Pro
Powering this entire setup is a massive 4000mAh battery on the Honor 9X. For charging, Honor has gone ahead and provided a USB Type-C port on this smartphone. And thankfully, the 3.5mm headphone jack can still be found on this phone. The Honor 9X is a dual SIM smartphone that supports dual 4G VoLTE standby. Other connectivity options include GPS, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, and Bluetooth 5.0. Honor also ships a protective case inside the box of this handset. Perhaps the only thing missing here is fast charge support.
