
iQOO is gearing up for the launch of the Z5 5G in China. The new Z-series smartphone from iQOO launches in China on September 23. The device will launch within a week’s time in India as well. iQOO India has confirmed that the phone will debut in the country on September 27. Ahead of the launch, the device is confirmed to pack a Snapdragon 778G SoC under the hood. It will come with LPDDR5 RAM as well. iQOO’s upcoming Z-series phone will go on sale via Amazon India. Ahead of the launch, the device’s India variant is listed on the Geekbench website.
The Geekbench listing reveals some key details of the upcoming iQOO Z5 5G. It has the model number I2018. The variant listed on Geekbench has 8GB of RAM under the hood. We can expect the company to launch a 6GB RAM variant of the Z5 as well in India. The device runs Android 11 out of the box. It will have a layer of Funtouch OS 11 on top of the Android mobile operating system.
As mentioned earlier, the phone draws power from a Snapdragon 778G SoC under the hood. It has four performance cores clocked at 2.4GHz and four efficiency cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The processor is paired with an Adreno 642L GPU. In Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests, the phone scored 799 and 2998, respectively.
The company has already revealed the design of the device. It comes in three finishes, one of which has a gradient colour scheme with vertical stripes on the back. The phone will also come with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The rear panel will have a triple-camera setup, which is likely to house a 64MP + 8MP + 2MP sensor setup.
At the front, the phone will have a hole-punch display. The screen will come with features like a 120Hz refresh rate support, HDR 10 and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. iQOO has also confirmed that the device has support for Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless along with a stereo speaker setup.
The phone could pack a 5,000 mAh battery and is rumoured to support 44W fast charging.
