Over the last year, there has been a visible push from laptop brands to ride the AI wave. What started with expensive AI laptops promising on-device AI capabilities met with limited enthusiasm from buyers, largely because most people today are still using cloud-based AI tools rather than applications that run directly on their machines. That has led brands to bring AI PCs into more affordable segments to drive adoption.
Acer's Swift series has always stood out for being compact, lightweight, and competitively priced. We recently reviewed the Acer Swift Go 14 AI powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon platform and came away impressed with its balance and excellent battery life. The Swift Lite 14 arrives in a similar price band, but it takes a very different approach. Here is a closer look at what the Swift Lite 14 offers for its asking price.
What the Acer Swift Lite 14 Offers
The new Acer Swift Lite 14 is the latest addition to this market. Priced at Rs 62,999, the laptop brings CoPilot+ features at an affordable price, an attempt at making the on-device AI computing more accessible for a larger audience base..
It is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 5 115U processor, featuring dedicated NPUs to accelerate AI tasks. The U-series chips in this laptop are tuned more towards power efficiency rather than brute performance. The base model comes with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD storage. With these specifications, the Acer Swift Lite 14 qualifies as an AI PC, while serving as a capable machine for casual and work-from-home users whose primary usage mainly revolves around Word, Excel, emails, and other productivity apps.
The highlight is its 14-inch OLED screen, which features 100% DCI-P3 coverage. It's rare to find a laptop with an OLED display around the Rs 60,000 mark, and this model also brings Intel's AI-ready chips, which makes the Acer Swift Lite 14 a value-for-money machine.
The Lite branding stems from its lightweight design, weighing just 1.1 kg. Even with a slim chassis, the screen has a 180-degree hinge, giving you the flexibility to open it wide when required. It is backed by a 50Wh battery, which should be enough to last you through a complete working day, as these Intel chips are designed to be highly power-efficient.
The Acer Swift Lite 14 is sold on Acer retail stores, website, Croma, Reliance Digital, Vijay Sales, and other leading retailers in the country.
How Does the Acer Swift Lite 14 Stack Up Against the Competition?
The Acer Swift Lite 14 enters a crowded and competitive segment. ASUS dominates this price range with its Vivobook S14 series, which also offers similar Intel chips and OLED displays. However, ASUS laptops in this range usually start around ₹70,000, which gives Acer an advantage with its lower starting price.
Lenovo's IdeaPad Slim 5i series is another strong contender, powered by AMD Ryzen AI 300 processors. These chips deliver performance on par with Intel and even edge ahead in certain multi-core workloads. Lenovo's offering also comes with a larger battery and a similar OLED screen. The trade-off is its slightly heavier build at 1.6 kg, compared to Acer's 1.1 kg. Pricing for the Slim 5i remains close, around ₹65,000.
It's also worth noting that the Swift Lite 14 does not use Intel's latest processors. The Core Ultra 5 115U processor is based on the Intel Meteor Lake platform, which was released in the second half of 2023. The Intel Core Ultra 200 V-series based laptops on the newer Lunar Lake platform do better on both fronts; performance and efficiency.
For buyers focused purely on performance, the ASUS Vivobook 14 (2025) with the Intel Core Ultra 225H chip is a good alternative in a similar 14-inch form factor. However, that model skips the OLED screen. Snapdragon X Plus laptops are another emerging choice in this segment, with models such as the HP Omnibook 5 and Acer's own Swift Go 14 AI that offer excellent battery life and competitive daily and AI performance thanks to Qualcomm's ARM-based chips. Though, we must mention, the Qualcomm Snapdragon platform is still a bit weak when it comes to support and optimization for legacy apps and graphically heavy applications.
Where Acer does hold a clear edge is in weight. At just 1.1 kg, the Swift Lite 14 is significantly lighter than most laptops in the ₹60,000 to ₹70,000 price range. This makes it especially attractive for buyers who prioritize portability over raw performance and are looking for a good display. It's a combination that makes the Swift Lite 14 particularly suitable for daily office use or for students who want a lightweight upgrade. One that's easy on both the shoulders and the wallet.
