If you are already locked in to the Apple ecosystem and own an iPhone, getting one of the latest iPhone 14 models may come down to be much cheaper than buying retail. Apple expanded its smartphone lineup with the launch of the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. All four smartphones can be snagged at massive ‘discounts’ if you have an old iPhone lying around. Part of Apple’s trade-in offer, the company accepts exchange of old iPhones, delivering discounts of over Rs 50,000 to buy the latest models. Thanks to the trade-in rates, you can exchange an iPhone as old as the iPhone X to get a discount of Rs 14,820 while trading in an iPhone 13 Pro Max will offer discounts of up to Rs 58,730.
As a result, buying an iPhone 14 model which starts at Rs 79,900 can be effectively purchased at less than Rs 25,000 with the trade-in discounts. The iPhone 14 Plus starts at Rs 89,900 while the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone Pro Max starts at 99,900 and Rs 1,19,900 respectively for the base 128GB variant.
The trade in offer for iPhones is also applicable to Android smartphones, although the trade in value that you will get is lower than if you trade in an older iPhone. For instance, exchanging an old OnePlus 8 will get you up to Rs 15,000 discount, while a Samsung Galaxy S10 will deliver a trade in discount of Rs 9,800. Interestingly, Apple has not listed any of the most recent Android smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra or the OnePlus 10 Pro. Google Pixel smartphones are also curiously missing from the list.
