Samsung has rolled out Android 9 Pie beta update for the Galaxy Note 9, and this new update reveals a few details about the upcoming Galaxy S10. The beta update brings with it Night Theme, which as its name suggests, will apply a dark UI theme to reduce strain on eyes. The Night Theme has an animated demonstration, which shows a smartphone with minimal to no bezels. We haven’t seen any such smartphone from Samsung so far. Therefore, it is safe to believe that the phone showcased in the demonstration video may very well be the Samsung Galaxy S10.
Samsung is one of the very few brands which hasn’t launched any truly bezel-less smartphone, so far. The brand was most probably holding back because it did not want to put a notch in the display like other manufacturers. From the animation of the supposed Galaxy S10, we can see that there is no camera or any sensors above the screen, which hints towards two things. First is that Samsung has either put the front-facing camera under the display or that the Galaxy S10 will have a sliding frame which will hold the front-facing camera like we have seen on smartphones like Oppo Find X, Vivo Nex, Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, and the Honor Magic 2. The second hint we get is that the Galaxy S10 may not feature an iris scanner due to the lack of space above the display. This is also backed by a recent leak, according to which, the Galaxy S10 may have an In-display fingerprint scanner developed by Qualcomm.
