OnePlus Open Tipped To Be Delayed Due to QC Issues

A popular tipster has tipped that the OnePlus Open launch is delayed due to quality control issues ahead of Q3 launch.

OnePlus tweeted the name of its upcoming foldable smartphones soon after the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 smartphone in an unpacked event. A recent tweet from OnePlus confirmed that the company will soon launch the OnePlus Open foldable device. OnePlus teased the Q3 launch of its first foldable device initially in the OnePlus 11 launch event.

Previously, MySmartPrice exclusively revealed the complete specifications of the upcoming device. A recent Smartprix report tipped the upcoming device’s launch date and renders. The foldable device was tipped to launch on August 29 at a OnePlus event in New York. Popular tipster Max Jambor also confirmed the launch date. A new tweet from Max Jambor reveals that the launch has been delayed.

The tipster tweets that the delayed launch of foldable device is good for consumers. OnePlus wasn’t satisfied with the screens supplied by BOE. The company has rejected the orders for the BOE screen. The tipster also adds that now OnePlus will use Samsung panels for its upcoming foldable smartphone. OnePlus seems to want to offer a better experience for its users and avoid the current backlash over green lines issues on its smartphones.

OnePlus Open Tipped Specifications

The upcoming OnePlus Open will feature a large 7.8-inch foldable AMOLED display. The display will have a 2K resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. OnePlus will also equip the display with a smaller 6.3-inch AMOLED display on the outside. The secondary display will, too, have a similar 120Hz refresh rate. Previously, Max Jambor tipped that the upcoming device will have an aspect ratio of 18:9 on the outside, similar to OPPO Find N2. The inner will have an aspect ratio of 8:4:9.

Underneath, the device will feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The chipset will be paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage. The upcoming foldable device will boot Oxygen OS 13.1 based on Android 13 out of the box. The device’s leaked renders revealed that the device will feature a faux leather back panel. OnePlus is likely to ship the device with a glass black panel. Max tipped that OnePlus would launch the device in Black and Green colour options.

OnePlus Open will feature a large camera module on the rear. The circular camera module will feature a Hasselblad text at the centre. An LED flash can also be seen in the top left corner. OnePlus will equip the device with a 48MP primary camera sensor. The sensor will be paired with a secondary 48MP ultra-wide camera and a tertiary 64MP periscope telephoto sensor. The device will feature a punch-hole cutout on the top left corner to house a 20MP selfie camera.

The periscope sensor is expected to bring support for 3X optical zoom. The upcoming device is expected to be backed by a 4800 mAh battery. The battery will feature support for 67W fast charging support. The tipster had previously revealed that the device will launch in China under the OPPO Find N3 branding.
