Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A40 smartphones were recently spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking platform, running on an octa-core Exynos 7885 chipset. The Galaxy A20 has also surfaced on the Geekbench benchmark database now, revealing its core hardware specifications.
Samsung Galaxy A20 to Feature an Exynos 7885 SoC
Just like the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A40 smartphones, the Galaxy A20 will also run on an Exynos 7885 14nm octa-core processor under the hood. Unlike the other two upcoming Galaxy A-series smartphones, however, the Galaxy A20 will only feature 3GB of RAM. As you can see the in the Geekbench listing below, the SM-A205FN variant of the Galaxy A20 caught on Geekbench scored 1,099 points in the single-core test and 3,456 points in the multi-core test. Both the single-core and multi-core scores are slightly less impressive when compared to the leaked benchmark scores of the Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A40. On the software front, all the upcoming Galaxy A-series smartphones are expected to run on the Android Pie operating system out of the box with Samsung’s new One UI layer running on top. Apart from what has been revealed by the Geekbench listing, there is very little that is known about the hardware specifications of the Galaxy A20.
As the model name clearly suggests, Galaxy A20 is likely to be the most affordable smartphone under Samsung’s Galaxy A-series for 2019. We expect it to feature an Infinity-V display similar to the upcoming Galaxy M-series smartphones, although it is likely to be more impressive in terms of build quality. As suggested by several recent rumors, some of Samsung’s 2019 Galaxy A-series smartphones are expected to come equipped with an In-display fingerprint sensor. Since the Galaxy A20 will be relatively affordable compared to the more premium Galaxy A-series models, it may feature a more traditional rear- or side-mounted fingerprint sensor instead. In the camera department, the Galaxy A20 will possibly feature a dual-camera setup at the rear and an AI-powered selfie camera on the front. We expect the Galaxy A20 to be officially announced alongside the other new Galaxy A-series smartphones towards the end of the current quarter or at the beginning of the second quarter.
