Vivo X Note Aerospace Edition Literally Comes With a Piece of Moon Attached to a Leather Strap

Vivo grabbed a few headlines earlier this week with the launch of its Vivo X Note along with Vivo X Fold, the company’s first-ever foldable smartphone. However, the Chinese tech firm is taking its X Note a notch above this time by introducing the Vivo X Note Aerospace Edition. As the name suggests, this is a special edition of the regular X Note that has an ‘Aerospace’ connection to it – a meteorite pendant. Yes, this special version comes with a pendant that houses a piece of Achondrite meteorite from the Moon. The mineral is housed inside a glass case, which is attached to a leather strap.

Besides including a pricey pendulum with a piece of Moon inside of it, the Vivo X Note Aerospace Edition also gets a different packaging, which is more premium. The handset itself is sky blue with a black rear camera enclosure.

Vivo X Note Aerospace Edition Specifications

As for the specifications, the special edition of the Vivo X Note has 12GB RAM and 256GB inbuilt storage, which is the same as the regular version. Although the regular model costs CNY 6,499 (roughly Rs 77,000), Vivo is yet to reveal the pricing of the Aerospace Edition. The phone, however, will be sold as a part of a flash sale on the company’s online store and JD.com starting today until April 22.

At the time of launch, Vivo highlighted the X Note’s 7-inch 2K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is curved and has a hole-punch cutout at the top centre for the front camera. Powering the device is the flagship mobile chipset, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and backing the phone is a 5,000mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging support and 50W wireless charging support.

Other Smartphones With Outer Space Minerals/Stones Attached

That said, this is not the first time that we are seeing a smartphone coming with a mineral/stone that doesn’t belong to Earth. Last year luxury brand Caviar unveiled a special edition iPhone with meteorite fragments, precious metals and stones on the back. It has also launched a special edition of Huawei Mate 40 Pro with a fragment of a meteorite that fell to Earth from the red planet aka Mars.
