OnePlus will soon debut the OnePlus Ace 3 smartphone in China.
The device will draw power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
It is expected to be launched with the OnePlus 12R moniker in other markets.
OnePlus recently confirmed the launch date of the OnePlus 12 5G and OnePlus 12R 5G smartphones in India. The Chinese smartphone giant will debut the smartphones globally in India on January 23. The upcoming OnePlus 12R 5G will also make its way outside India for the maiden time. OnePlus is likely to rebrand the forthcoming OnePlus Ace 3 smartphone under the OnePlus 12R 5G moniker.
The complete specifications of the smartphone were leaked through a post shared by popular tipster Digital Chat Station on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo. The upcoming Ace 3 smartphone was initially tipped to debut in the second week of December in China. Digital Chat Station has now revealed the exact launch date of the forthcoming device through a new teaser.
OnePlus Ace 3 Expected Specifications
DCS reveals that OnePlus will debut the OnePlus Ace 3 smartphone on January 4 in China. The tipster also reiterates that the upcoming device will sport a metal middle frame. Digital Chat Station previously divulged that OnePlus had canceled its plans to equip the smartphone with a 32MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom.
The phonemaker is tipped to continue with the existing triple rear camera setup comprising a primary, ultrawide, and macro sensor. There were rumours that OnePlus might equip the OnePlus 12R 5G with a telephoto sensor. However, tipster Max Jambor confirmed that OnePlus has no plans to offer the global model with a telephoto sensor.
The Ace 3 is expected to feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution. The Chinese smartphone giant is likely to source the AMOLED panel from BOE and will use the same BOE X1 oriental screen. The screen will also offer LTPO technology, with refresh rates varying between 1 to 120Hz.
The OnePlus Ace 3 is also rumoured to offer support for a peak brightness of 4500 nits. The upcoming device is also said to feature 2160Hz PWM dimming for better eye care. Under the hood, the smartphone is expected to come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The chipset is built on TSMC’s 4nm process and will debut with many upper mid-range smartphones in the upcoming months.
The chipset will pair with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. The smartphone will run Color OS 14 based on Android 14 out of the box in China. The global variant, aka OnePlus 12R, will debut with Oxygen OS 14. OnePlus is said to launch the smartphone in gray, gold, and blue colour options.
Similar to the OnePlus 12 5G, the phone is said to come with IP54 certification. The company will debut the device with a circular camera island. MySmartPrice revealed the renders of the upcoming OnePlus 12R 5G in collaboration with OnLeaks.
The triple rear cameras of the OnePlus Ace 3 are tipped to comprise a 50MP Sony IMX 9xx series primary sensor with OIS. The sensor will be paired with an 8MP ultrawide sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP macro lens with f/2.4 aperture. The centered punch hole cut-out is reported to house a 16MP selfie camera. A 5500mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging is tipped to back the device.
