LG Electronics India has expanded its refrigerator portfolio in the country with the launch of new French Door, Side-by-Side, double-door, and Essential Series refrigerator models as part of its 2026 home appliances lineup. The company says the expanded range is aimed at addressing both premium and affordable-premium demand, while also strengthening its India-focused product strategy.
The launch comes at a time when the Indian refrigerator market is seeing a gradual shift toward larger capacities, premium finishes, and smart cooling technologies, especially in urban households upgrading from traditional double-door models. At the same time, brands are also trying to hold on to value-conscious buyers looking for practical features such as inverter compatibility, lower power consumption, and flexible storage.
LG Expands Premium Refrigerator Portfolio With French Door and Side-by-Side Models
A major highlight of the new lineup is LG's French Door refrigerator range, which includes capacities ranging from 574 litres to 610 litres. The company claims this includes India's first 33-inch French Door refrigerator with an Auto Ice Maker that does not require a plumbing connection. The range also brings features such as InstaView Door-in-Door, Fresh Converter+, Door Cooling+, Hygiene Fresh+, and AI ThinQ Wi-Fi connectivity for smart monitoring and control.
LG has also expanded its locally manufactured Side-by-Side refrigerator portfolio, with capacities now extending up to 790 litres. The company says these models will be available in finishes such as Black Mirror Glass, Shiny Steel, and Natural Beige, reflecting the growing focus on aesthetics in premium kitchen appliances.
The company has additionally introduced what it calls its largest double-door refrigerator with a 674-litre capacity and separate storage sections for fruits and vegetables.
Essential Series Targets India's Affordable-Premium Buyers
Beyond the premium segment, LG is also widening its Essential Series refrigerator range, which was initially introduced in late 2025 as part of its affordable-premium push. The updated lineup now includes 225L, 251L, and 276L capacities targeted at a broader range of households. Features include Smart Inverter Compressor technology, Smart Mode cooling adaptation, Convertible with Dairy Mode, Turbo Fresh Zone, and Auto Smart Connect for operation during power cuts through home inverters.
The company has also introduced new finishes across the Essential Series range, including Shiny Steel, Onyx Black, Radiant Inox, Wine Glory, Scarlet Lotus, and Emerald Lotus. The move reflects how appliance brands are increasingly positioning refrigerators not just as utility products, but as part of modern kitchen décor and lifestyle purchases.
LG's Refrigerator Push Also Supports Its Export Ambitions
Commenting on the launch, Hong Ju Jeon, Managing Director, LG Electronics India, said the company's focus is on offering products tailored for Indian lifestyles across different price segments while also strengthening its Make-in-India strategy.
The broader launch also ties into LG's growing export ambitions from India. The company says the Essential Series appliances are expected to be exported to 22 countries across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa during 2026.
Pricing for the new refrigerator range starts at Rs 25,500 for the Essential Series models, while the French Door lineup starts at Rs 1.18 lakh. Side-by-Side refrigerators start at Rs 1.09 lakh. The products will be available through LG Brand Stores, multi-brand retail outlets, and e-commerce platforms across India.
