It was quite a happening day in the consumer technology segment. Apple finally unveiled its new range of iPads with the latest M4 chipset. MediaTek also announced a new variant of its flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9300+. Gamers were also happy today as Nintendo officially confirmed the launch of its Switch 2 console. Apple Introduces New iPads

Apple conducted its Let Loose event today and launched the iPad Air 6th generation and the iPad Pro 7th generation. The latest iPad Pro gets a new M4 chip with a 16-core neural engine, making it the most powerful iPad ever. It is also the slimmest iPad, with a maximum thickness of just 5.6mm. It is also the first iPad to feature an OLED screen, which Apple calls the Ultra Retina XDR. Pricing for the latest iPad Pro starts at Rs 99,990 in India.

The iPad Air 6th gen features the M2 chip but misses the OLED screen upgrade. It also supports new AI features using the neural engine on the NPU chip. It is available in 11-inch and 13-inch screen sizes. The base model of the iPad Air 6th gen is priced at Rs 59,990 in India.

MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ Launched

MediaTek has officially launched the Dimensity 9300+ chipset as an upgrade to the flagship Dimensity 9300. The new processor now brings improved AI capabilities and can run large language models (LLMs) locally on the device using the new APU 790 AI Engine. This includes support for Google Gemini Nano, Meta Llama 2, and many other models.

The chipset’s core architecture has remained. It uses the same octa-core configuration, with one Cortex X4 Prime core, three Cortex X4 cores, and four Cortex A720 cores. It also retains the Immortalis-G720 MC2 GPU.

Lenovo Tab K11 Launched in India

The Lenovo Tab K11 was launched today in India as a mid-range Android tablet. It features a 10.95-inch IPS LCD screen with a WUXGA resolution, which, in simple terms, translates to 1920×1200 pixels. The tablet is powered by the MediaTek Helio G88 chipset and runs on a 7040 mAh battery.

The Lenovo Tab K11 is priced at Rs 17,990. It also comes with stylus support, and customers can purchase the Lenovo Tab Pen Plus separately.

Realme GT 6 Series India Launch Confirmed

Realme is currently celebrating its 6th anniversary. In an official announcement, the company has confirmed that Realme will bring a new Realme GT 6 Series device to India.

The last Realme flagship in India was the Realme GT Neo 3T, launched in 2022. Hence, Realme fans are happy to hear that a new flagship is coming to the country. Although the company has not revealed the exact launch date, we can expect it to launch in the second half of 2024.

Nintendo Confirms Switch 2 is coming this year

Nintendo fans eagerly await a new gaming console, as the Switch is long due for an upgrade. The company has officially confirmed that Nintendo will announce the Switch 2 this fiscal year.

Hence, gamers can expect to hear more details about the Nintendo Switch 2 before March 31, 2025. However, the company’s official post only mentions an announcement and not a launch. Hence, Switch fans may have to wait a little longer before getting their hands on a commercial unit of the Nintendo Switch 2.
