AMD has launched two new desktop processors under its Ryzen 5 series, aimed at extending value options across both its current AM5 platform and the older, still-supported AM4 platform.
The Ryzen 5 7500 is the AM5 option. It is a 6-core, 12-thread chip with a boost clock of up to 5.0 GHz and a 3.7 GHz base clock, backed by 38 MB of total cache. Unlike most AM5 Ryzen 5 chips aimed at higher tiers, it includes integrated Radeon graphics, letting buyers run a system without a discrete GPU.
The Ryzen 5 5500F targets the AM4 platform instead, keeping that older socket alive for budget builds. It matches the 7500’s 6-core, 12-thread configuration but clocks lower, at up to 4.4 GHz boost and 3.0 GHz base, with 19 MB of total cache. It ships without integrated graphics, so a discrete GPU is required to use it.
Both chips carry a 65 W TDP.
