ASUS Chromebook CX15 Launched in India at Rs. 47,990

ASUS has expanded its Chromebook portfolio in India with the launch of the ASUS Chromebook CX15 (CX1505CTA). The new Chromebook is aimed at students, young professionals and first-time laptop buyers looking for a cloud-first computing experience. The laptop combines ChromeOS, Google AI features, a lightweight design, military-grade durability and all-day battery life. It is also the company's first Chromebook to be available through offline retail stores in India.

Chromebook CX15 Specifications And Features

The ASUS Chromebook CX15 is powered by ChromeOS and comes deeply integrated with Google's ecosystem. ASUS is bundling a three-month Google AI Pro membership, which includes access to Gemini, AI features across Gmail, Docs and Sheets, Gemini Notebook, Google Flow for AI-powered video creation, advanced Google Photos editing tools, Nano Banana image generation, YouTube Premium Lite, and 5TB of cloud storage. The company says these tools are designed to help users improve productivity, creativity and collaboration from day one.

The Chromebook is powered by the Intel Processor N50, paired with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB eMMC storage. ASUS says the hardware is designed to handle everyday tasks such as web browsing, online classes, video conferencing, document editing and cloud-based applications while taking advantage of ChromeOS' lightweight software experience. The ASUS Chromebook CX15 features a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS NanoEdge display with 300 nits brightness, an anti-glare coating, and an 87 percent screen-to-body ratio. The display is designed to offer comfortable viewing for online learning, productivity and media consumption while maintaining wide viewing angles.

Weighing 1.59kg, the Chromebook meets US MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability standards. It comes in a Pure Grey finish inspired by traditional Japanese washi paper and also incorporates recycled materials as part of ASUS' sustainability efforts. The laptop is rated to deliver up to 12.5 hours of battery life and ships with a 45W USB Type-C fast charger.

Security is another major focus of the Chromebook CX15. It includes Google's Titan C Security Chip, while ChromeOS provides automatic security updates and built-in protection against malware. ASUS has also added a physical webcam privacy shutter for additional privacy during online meetings and classes.

Price and Availability

The ASUS Chromebook CX15 is priced at Rs. 47,990 and is available now through the ASUS eShop, ASUS Exclusive Stores, ROG Stores, ASUS Authorised Retail Partners, and Reliance Digital outlets across India. Buyers can also avail 0 percent No Cost EMI starting at Rs. 3,999 per month, along with a one-year standard warranty and one-year accidental damage protection.

The Chromebook category has remained relatively niche in India, but AI-powered productivity and cloud-based workflows are slowly making these devices more relevant. With the CX15, ASUS is betting on that shift by combining ChromeOS, Google's latest AI tools, long battery life and a lightweight design into a package that's aimed squarely at students and first-time laptop buyers. Its offline retail expansion could also help Chromebooks reach a wider audience, especially those who prefer experiencing a device before making a purchase.
